You see this and you think, "oh it's an SSL EQ" but the Frequency ranges of the bands as well as the boost levels and even the Q's don't match. Like most Analog Obsession Plugins this cannot compete with what SSL, Plugin Alliance or even Waves have to offer.

Completely agree. Even with EQ curves matched to other SSL emulations in Plugin Doctor, this one still sounds dull in comparison (I compared it with Waves and Brainworx). I was surprised to hear such a dramatic difference.
P.S. Some other plugins by Analog Obsession are really great though.

This one has some major advantages over SSL's Native Channelstrip IMO. Aside from the fact that the EQ in the Native CS is cramped and incredibly innacurate, this one actually has some saturation, oversampling and automatic gain compensation :)

Combining this one with Buster SE is my go to SSL "channelstrip" right now. The Waves one is certainly a classic, but it's getting a bit old by now (still good though, just lacks some more modern features), the BX one is quite nice (but it has the same problem as the Native CS, it boosts/cuts are way off what it says in the GUI). The only one that outright beats SSQ+Buster SE is Acustica Sand and maybe the UAD one, but I haven't tested it so
