Cytomic The Scream v1.0.8 CE-V.R screenshot
TEAM V.R | Win32/64 AAX/VST
The Scream is an analog modeled stomp box distortion plug-in based on the classic green Tube Screamer pedal.

It uses the same high quality algorithms used in circuit simulators, but optimised to run much faster, and features a gorgeous fully scalable user interface. It is a full discrete component model of the original, with modified Boyle macro modelled op-amps. All component and model values in the circuit can be edited to customise your tone. Choose LEDs or Germanium diodes to create asymmetric clipping combinations, chain any number of diodes in series or even bypass them altogether and let the op-amp do the clipping - the possibilities are endless!

The most true emulation.
What if the era of "analog has been cracked" (not emulated nor inspired by) began?
2020 or bit later: why do you guys spend hundreds of thousands per hardware unit, if there is a cheap/free 1:1 copy can be downloaded?)

PCB boards, transformers, opamps, electricity and AD/DA sounds better to me. Emulations are "emulations". Non-liniarities on full scale can't be recreated 100%. Try it :-D

some SRC algorithms are better than all super AD/DA converters.
All these small analog nuances are nothing mostly.

If you listen sound examples sometimes hard to notice analog-digital ding similnks

I've been playing using line6 digital pedal-board, and their simulation of analogue saturation is good enough to replace a bad tube amp, and much more reliable too, specially if you know how to program it, because these thing really need you to adjust correctly the input level, as a real amp would, but many people judge the digital simulation without learning how to use it.

I can compare, I have a Laney Fusion, which is an excellent tube amp, and I use a big Marshall in one the rehearsal studio.

And if we speak about pedals, it's the same, many people swear by analog effect pedals, but if you buy a Harley Benton distortion, it will be much worst than a digital emulation.

Yoer, its about sensitivity, dynamic range and clear sound. Other hand, distortions and overubut its not mean its worse than digital.

Well using a tube amp you need to adjust you input level then your gain level.
It's the same in digital world.

I have not said that one is better than the other, I'm only saying that many people who judge digital effects and amp emulations simply dont know how to use it.

Olymoon, could you give me some links to info about it? How to use it properly and so on.
Maybe is there some equivalent of Lynda's Reverb course. I will be very grateful

Just one very wild guess from my side: All guys claiming that they would ever and always hear the difference on whatever or anything: You don't work professionally in audio industry, do you? 'Cause if you did you would have found yourself more than once in the following situation: Costumer wants something, you dail some knobs move some faders, you are very satisfied, costumer is very satisfied... so far so good. Problem is moments later you find out you didn't do what you wanted to do but you heard what you thought you'd do.
So let me ask: All of you saing that this or that sounds better, did you ask your girlfrend to switch tracks, and did you guess 'your thing' more than 50% (which would be random, obviously)?

If this happens, we will need really reliable computers, that could suffer all that happens in a live situation. I'm not a analog fan/beleiver but I still prefer to use a pedal-board, be it digital or not, just because it will not fail me in the middle of a song.

Exactly. That's why digital hardware still sell a lot.
Every year, Line6 release a new hardware ;)
And they get the money from previous one...

PS : i'm more a VOX/Tonelab SE/LE believer :D

I bought my old Tubescreamer TS9 at the Canal Street Flea Market in 1986 for $10. I still use it today. Hardly hundreds of thousands, LOL!

Damn, that's the closest to a Stradivarius in the guitar pedal world ))

Sell it and buy an i9 64 core computer!!

Same situation than ppl buying OSCar synths for 200-300 bucks when ppl bought DX7.
Now take a look at DX7 price and OSCar price :D

That's cool that everybody can check this out and see just how good it is (it's the bomb) but I would suggest to anyone out there who's got the money ($29.99) to purchase and support the developer on this one, don't wanna preach by any means but I'd love to see Cytomic get some good money, cause with the quality of this plugin- Cytomic deserves a lil somthin', if u like it- just consider it

You get a good discount if you have other plugins of his. Picked it up for 20$ can't say fairer than that.
