EAST COAST SOUL
The jazzy, soulful sound of classic East Coast hip hop and boom bap
Kits packed with layered, melodic samples
Exclusive macros for rich texture and personalized sound

NEEDLE TO THE GROOVE
BASEMENT ERA crackles with punchy, vinyl-inspired drums, sliced jazz interludes, lo-fi vintage chords, and booming bass to bring the crate digging vibe of classic East Coast hip hop to MASCHINE.

Created in association with Raw Cutz.

...AND YA DON’T STOP
In the late 80s and early 90s, boom bap was king. On the East Coast, hip hop producers and artists like Pete Rock, Grand Puba, and Gang Starr’s DJ Premier dropped beats dripping with jazz and soul. These crate diggers scoured shops and mined records for soulful hooks, jazzy breaks, and funky grooves to scratch, sample, and blend. And though the Golden Age eventually came to an end, hip hop instrumentalist Madlib ushered in a renaissance of this jazzy, sample-driven sound in the late 90s and early 2000s.

A CRATE DIGGER’S DREAM
Designed with sample hounds in mind, BASEMENT ERA overflows with royalty-free audio for mixing, matching, and looping. Bass guitar and ensemble one-shots mingle with jazzy flute and horn hooks, funky guitar licks, and vintage keyboard chord stabs, all organized by key. Crisp snares and FX are perfect for crafting gritty, head-nodding beats, while drum decays can be easily trimmed to fit any track. As a final touch, dusty, crackling vinyl sounds add texture, warmth, and authenticity.

It's should work based on the system requirements. It may also depend on how the sample, projects, and kits were saved.

System requirements
Hardware: MASCHINE STUDIO, MASCHINE, MASCHINE JAM or MASCHINE MIKRO
Software: MASCHINE 2.6.8 or higher.

How do we install this? I didn't see an installer. I copied over the files to my library. I opened up Machsine, scanned my library. It picked up the expansion, but nothing opened. OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 Maschine 2.6.5 unlocked

I attempted to install this expansion by placing the folder in HD/user/shared/native instruments and re-scanning via the software but no buenno!

This Expansion came out in December as did the 2.7 update. I was under the impression it came out right before 2.7 but I might be mistaken. I can't get the groups or projects to load in 2.6.9...I was able to preview and use the samples from the file menu though...I'm on the MK3

Shouldnt we have the PARESOURCES folder from Application Support? That's what i think it's missing for making it work.
And also missing a folder from SHARED/NI RESOURCES

Yes, with the missing PAResources folder we don't see the preview image of the expansions (London Grit and Basement Era), but one can make something that it appears in the real library (not in user):
Go into Library -> Preferences where you can find all the .plist files of the expansions. Copy one of them to your desktop (trying to change it in the Preferences folder doesn't work, because it's write protected) and rename it with the name of the expansion which you want to add in the library. Then open the .plist file with PlistEdit Pro, change the path to the expansion where you copied the expansion folder, save the plist file and move it into the Preferences folder again. Now open the Maschine software and Maschine will scan it and add it into the library.
But the preview images won't appear until one have the PAResources folder for these two expansions. :( Hope I could help a bit.

So the best way to do this is just to spend the $50 bucks. Especially when they send out $25 E-Vouchers like hotcakes. But I was bored and figured out how to do this. I don't feel like typing a million words but I will sum up hot to get this to work (at lease on OSX).
Put the folder in your USERS:SHARED directory. In your LIBRARY:PREFERENCES directory create a p-list for this simple my copy and pasting one of the others and renameing it, also open the p-list as a test document and rename the folder location to match. Open Maschine. Go to Preferences. Go to Library. Double click one of your other Maschine libraries thats already added to open the window that will let you change the folder location. Rescan that library. Open Native Access. Close Maschine. Open Maschine. Go to Preference/Library. Reclick the location for that library and return that Library to the correct location. At this point both the thumbnails should be in Maschine including the new one. But the new thumbnail will blank/generic since there is not parResource (yet). Close Native Access and then reopen. Rescan both directories just to make sure everything is good and that the new blank thumbnail has just the projects for that expansion and not all the expansions (?) if it has all retry. Trust me try it once or twice and eventually it will be correct and will just be the correct content for that new expansion. Close Maschine and Reopen it. If Maschine hasn't magically deleted your fake p-list file while reopening you good to go. If the p-list did disappear. repeat all the steps. Trust me. After a few times it will work (somehow). Now the new expansion will be in your browser and working (if you have the unlocked version of Maschine). The only problem is their will be no images because there is no ParResource. If you are OCD like me this will drive you crazy. Here's how I fixed this. At this point in Native Access the new expansion (Basement Era or whatever) will be listed in your Native Access as a installed expansion (it will say DEMO but it will be there). The thumbnail will be there also! Open up the ParResource directory for another expansion that you already have installed normally through the pkg installer. Rename the directory to the new expansion. There are image files in that directory. You really don't need to worry about the ones with the word because Maschine will just render these as text and it will look fine (at least to me and I'm extremely OCD about uniformity and things like this. The only 2 you need to worry about are the medium size thumbnail (the one for the computer browser) and the small thumbnail one (the one for the hardware display browser). Open these 2 images in Photoshop. Go back to Native Access and click on the new expansion so the thumbnail will show up. Do a PRINTSCREEN. On OSX you actually can do this in a way where you can select the small part of the screen capture you want to do it with. I forget the key command but you can easily Google it. go back to Photoshop. Paste that screenshotted thumbnail over the other one. Save it to the new folder in the same directory and in the same manner as the other ParResources. Close Maschine and ReOpen it. The new expansion should be looking and working just like a legit one at this point.......... Side Note: I think its dope that someone would release this expansion on a forum like this for MANY reasons. But why would they release the folder by itself and not just release the pkg installer? Anyway peace..... I tried to keep it short and still a million words.
