We here at Soundiron are proud to present the next entry in our series of powerful, epic choir libraries: Mars Symphonic Men’s Choir. We took all we learned from recording previous choirs and applied them here to make certain Mars is the most playable, diverse, epic choir library we have ever done. With Mars, we are aiming for versatility. Instead of focusing on one language, we chose to go with a wide range of both Slavonic and Latin content so composers can add more flavor to their tracks. We spent 10 days in our favorite church recording the 30-voice chorus, capturing the nuances of the male human voice. Mars is all about power, both on the low-end and the high. It includes 2 mic positions (stage and hall) so composers have the flexibility to incorporate the full-bodied sound of Mars easily into their mix. Mars has risen in the night sky.

Zero-1 is in essence a single oscillator virtual analog synthesizer (VA) loosely based on the CS01 monosynth which was released in 1982 as an affordable entry into the world of analog synthesis… but with a twist! The Emax was essentially a complete replication of the Emulator II using custom E-mu chips instead of standard off the shelf silicon chips.
This new engineering increased reliability, and reduced the cost of manufacture.

The sample resolution was the same 12-bits companded into 8-bits of memory, the samples were still monophonic, but the maximum sample rate was increased to 42kHz.

Rhythmic Robot's version of Trixer takes all 20 sounds from the original frankenmixer and slots them into your DAW ready to program. All four kits are covered: two Rock kits, a Jazz kit and an Electronic kit (our inevitable favourite here in the lab). Each kit piece was sampled multiple times because the Trixer varies its sound quite widely, and you have control over level, pan and tuning on a per-kit-piece basis. We also discovered one of those useful glitches that tend to crop up in old electronic boxes, which generates a "snare roll" – and which we captured and looped. All in all, there are some really punchy, 80s-style sounds here, which instantly bring to mind countless classic hits of the past. Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Prince, Talk Talk, Van Halen, Spandau Ballet, Culture Club, Ultravox, Pink Floyd… the list of notable Simmons users reads like a who's who of 80s rock and pop legends. This is your chance to put on a headband, rip your jeans up real good, and rock out with the best of the best. More power to your pads!
