ABBEY ROAD | VINTAGE DRUMMER brings the smooth, dynamic sound of early incarnation drum kits back to life. Get true vintage tone within the intuitive framework of the ABBEY ROAD DRUMMER Series. Extremely rare instruments dating from the 1920s to 1940s were meticulously recorded at Abbey Road Studios using a mixture of period equipment alongside state-of-the-art recording chains that allow users to blend the best of old and new.

Brush articulations, available for the first time in the ABBEY ROAD Series, add another expressive dimension to VINTAGE DRUMMER, and the extensive Groove Library and Mixer Section offer a trove of inspiration for producers of all genres – from the earliest jazz to cutting edge electronic.

RECORDED AT ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS

All drums were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, UK.

An iconic symbol of the music industry since 1931, Abbey Road has been the location of countless landmark recordings by artists such as The Beatles, U2, Kate Bush, Oasis, Kanye West and Radiohead, to name just a few.

Abbey Road has pioneered many studio techniques and technologies, and is widely recognized as one of the most advanced recording, mixing and post-production complexes in the world.

THE DRUM KITS

Two ultra-rare kits, each with a choice of three snares, deliver the sound of pre-1950s Jazz and big band recordings. The Ebony kit is an open, mellow, and smooth-sounding kit featuring original James Blades 12” and 13 ” toms and a 26” Leedy bass drum – all tuned with original calfskin drum heads.

The Ivory Kit is a classic Slingerland Radio King kit from the early 1940s with 13” and 16” toms and a 24” bass drum. Also equipped with original calfskin heads, this kit is warm, chunky, and somewhat tighter than the Ebony kit.

THE MIXER SECTION

Create the perfect drum submix completely within the instrument! Each of the updated ABBEY ROAD DRUMMER Series provides a dedicated Mixer Section and a range of high-quality studio effects, including tape saturation, convolution reverb and three big-league effects: a top-qualitystudio EQ, a high-endstudio compressor and the awe-inspiringTRANSIENT MASTER.

And if time is tight, Mixer and Effects presets provide instant pro sound with precision mic levels, the perfect blend of close and room mics, and just the right effects to set it all off.

COMPREHENSIVE GROOVE LIBRARY

The right drum sound is only part of the equation. ABBEY ROAD | VINTAGE DRUMMER provides a Groove Library full of beats and fills that perfect for everything from jazz and swing to the most modern pop productions. A set of modern grooves is also included for producers looking to add some vintage spice to their contemporary sound.

These MIDI patterns were played live by professional drummers – find the beat that suits the track you’re working on, choose fills and variations to match, then drag and drop into your host sequencer.

And if you’re a drummer yourself, just hook up your e-drums and you’re ready to go.

I Love vintage drums sounds but I am afraid of that typical CPU usage on NI drums...

Sorry if i'm mistaken, but i think that posting a direct link (those you can click'n'go) to the creators of the product could be "very dangerous" somehow ... for referers, and so on. So, i'll will suggest you (if i may) to put the link in simple text form for anyone who wants the manual do a simple copy/paste as usual to get it.

This is my opinion and of course, no offense of any kind here. And thanks for the upload! (which i'll download by torrent if you don't mind yes )

Kind Regards! mates

Best possible thing you can do with this and all the NI drummer products is to gank their Midi files, throw them in your EZdrummer > Midi folder.. and use them in Superior Drummer 2.

These use WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too muuch CPU to even be considered as a viable option for drums within a DAW.

I'm affraid I'm not interested in amateur products

You can say it is CPU hungry,or it doesn`t fit to your music or whatever, but call it amateur is ridiculous statement.
I personally do not need something like this but it sounds good imho

EZdrummer or Superior drummer are very easy to work with, but it is the worst sounding library in compare to others,I can never imagine it being a real drums...Too digital and plastic.
I wonder did you ever guys been in room with real professional drums?
As a drummer I must say that this new NI Vintage product sound much better than any Toontrack so far,and that is the fact.

You can know spread fire on me really I do not care...Just I wanna say my opinion on these.
Cheers to all. mates

I really didn`t want do offend anybody, people stop fighting like we are all enemies here.Calm down...As Lord Gaga sad, opinions are welcomed but not attacking on someone talking he`s not knowing what hes doing...That`s too rush...
In the end these are just tools..What music we make is matter, and how these libraries fit to our music....
Me personally never use midi,i love to play everything i make on keys, that way it give more character dynamically and rhythmically...
Midi always sound like notes on machine gun..especially drums....IMHO.
Cheers to all again. mates

I tried to use Toontrack as so much people enjoy it, but it's not my thing neither...

BFD + Platinum Samples, NI or Slate are the best to me !
Without obsession, life is nothing.

Man , you said All!!! I agree with your words. You're the one of the few people in this forum who really understand the drums. The new abbey road drummer libraries sounds better than Ez or Superior Drummer. No doubt about it.
