Native Instruments has launched its latest Expansion Disctrict Xeo, a futuristic dystopian electro collection of sounds by the Berlin-based sound design and production studio IRRUPT.

Traffic weaves from above. Skyscrapers clad with neon-lit signs fill the horizon. The music emerging from the city is cold and robotic, yet emotive – reflecting its futuristic urban gloom. Mechanical rhythms snap at whiplashing speeds, basslines squelch with funk, and mournful chords drape over pulsing arpeggiated synths.

DISTRICT XEO recalls the classic electro-thrills of Drexciya, Aux 88, and Dopplereffekt, to the resurging electro labels of today like Central Processing Unit – reaching into cutting-edge genres like grime, trap, footwork, and beyond. The future isn’t pretty, but it sounds good.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but of you're like me and you love these Native Instruments Expansions, but don't like installing them, you can just extract them with 7zip.

Extract the iso file (which can be done with winrar, but 7zip is necessary for the rest of the process). Inside there are two DISTRICT EXO Library pkg files, labeled 1 and 2. Only these are necessary. In each is a Payload~ file, extract them with 7zip to reveal the contents of the library.

This technique can be done more or less with any Native Instruments Expansion, albeit sometimes the file containers are different, but the content is still there (I've done it with almost 30 libraries, this one makes number 29 ).
Some of them have three pkg files, some have the files stored in an exe, etc. Doesn't matter, just "feel around" the files, and the contents will be there.

Thx and happy Thanksgiving. Never heard of the prod. company IRRUPT that designed this, but they have some interesting looking sample packs on their site.
