His a songwriter too and plays guitar really well that's why he has producer credits on a lot of songs on his albums. Check out the episode of Genius where they dissect his song "Stay", you'll be surprised.

You are totally right, however in this case I don’t think they were referring to his musical ability on the guitar, as this is a Hip Hop pack I get that they were referring to the ‘producer’
