At the end of 2013, news began to emerge of a new IA related project, set to be released sometime in spring 2014. The vocal was revealed to be a new vocal in Japanese with a change of tone. A downloadable demo referred to as IAα Type C was released on IA's second anniversary, in which 1st Place requested participation in their feedback campaign from those who wished to take part in helping improve the vocal.
On May 22, 2014 it was announced that the official name of the voicebank would be IA ROCKS and is due for release on June 27, 2014. A PV featuring the voicebank was also released which will be used as the opening for IA Visual Tracks Colorful.
