Multi-band correlation metering is an advanced way to check for presence of out-of-phase elements in the mix. Broadband correlation metering reports overall phase issues and may misrepresent problems present in select spectral bands, while multi-band correlation meter easily highlights problems present in mid to high frequencies that are not easily heard by ear, but may still reduce clarity of the mix. Another application of multi-band correlation metering is phase- and time-aligning of channels and tracks, especially bass and bass-drum pairs, guitar mic and D.I. source pairs, two-microphone stereo recordings, etc.

For many years, I’ve built up a library of DSP effects, executed in a stripped-down, retro-friendly format that is impossibly light and efficient compared to how plugins usually are. It’s also completely overwhelming at nearly 400 plugins all with their own names (or iterations like Channel6, Channel7, Console8, Console9 and so on) and stuck on older formats like VST2, because for years I insisted that Steinberg might try to take away the legal right to put out VST2 plugins and I wasn’t going to risk that, being committed to supporting all possible machines.

YS - Dynamics_ V.1.01 Audio plugin for parallel compression. High and low frequency cutoff filters allow you to select the desired range for adding a compression effect. The volume module for controlling dynamics has four different algorithms. Linear Curve, Exponential, Curve, Decibel Curve, Decibel old Curve. Low frequency cutoff filter on the signal coming to the detector "SC-F" to remove too much energy from the signal. There is also a button for smoothing the peaks of the signal controlling the compression "Smooth". "LINK" combines the signals of the left and right channels going to the detector into a sum. The output peak limiter has a switch to select between "Hard" and "Soft". The LUFS meter of the input (green) output (yellow) will help compare the signal to remain in the original balance. The centerpiece of this album's creation is a tape machine, which Tyler Gilmore aka BlankFor.ms uses to capture his world and warp it; sometimes speeding up time, sometimes slowing it down while often painting a warm, analog canvas, letting long forgotten recordings on old cassettes shimmer through to the foreground.
