On a whim, spurred by a YouTube binge, Jon Meyer decided to transform a parlor acoustic guitar. He replaced the bridge with rubber, strung it with flat wound strings, and added the cheapest electronics from Amazon. And as if the guitar wasnā€™t dead enough, he wedged an eraser under the strings, further dampening its already muted tones. The outcome? A plucky yet lifeless (in the best possible way) sound, more akin to a bass than a vibrant acoustic.
