Inspired by hydraulic pressure, steam room reverbs and synthesis that buckles and twists, Manchester soundbender Henzo carves up a collection of leftfield tones for Rubicon. While the most obvious applications of these percs, basslines and atmospheres would be bass music, dubstep and half step dnb, wobbly fx and one shot motifs call to mind video game sound design and the hyperpop of PC music. Genres aside, Pressure Density reflects an era of bass music dedicated to sound design, where producers like Henzo are bringing creative synthesis to the forefront of their craft.

Inspired by contemporary classical works by Stars of the Lid and William Basinski, Celestial Brass approaches the french horn and flugelhorn as source material for rich sonic tapestries to be interpreted anew. Ambient tone clusters and lush horn harmonies are highlight of the pack, bringing nuanced orchestration to future productions. Solo and one shot material, split into processed and unprocessed renderings for maximum flexibility, are of course featured as well, captured by ribbon and tube mics such as the Royer and Warm Audio WA-67.

Spellbinding vocal drones and phrases captured in an old church
Toward the end of the summer, my partner (the star of this library) and I had a couple of hours to ourselves in a 173yr old church. We spent that time capturing these samples.
We took full advantage of the space despite only having one stereo mic, so what you hear in this library is what would be a “far” or “ambient” mic signal.

Cold Sul Ponticello is a limited single-dynamic instrument from Wavelet Audio. Sul-Ponticello articulation is often used by composers to create a unique atmosphere. Wavelet Audio added only 'must-have' controls to the interface to help keep it simple. This playing technique brings a lot of high-frequency harmonics — which you can choose to filter out if needed.

The Motherdrummer - 92 minutes of Moog DFAM stems and patterning

Initially I wanted to create a new drum pack with my Moog DFAM. But honestly, this wasn’t really possible, because the DFAM is just not a regular groovebox or drumsynth. It’s more like a percussive-synth-thingie with huge focus on permanently changing and evolving sounds thanks to its sequencer. So I sampled 40 full sequence stems plus 22 variations from the DFAM, all evolving over several minutes, gave them some love through my modular Tube Distortion Filter and finally some software treatment for finalising. The result features 92 minutes of instant Techno & Electro patterns.

As our first release of Hybrid Symphonic series the point of the soundbank is the creation of hybrid sounds that have orchestral instruments on the one side and something else on the other side.
