Internally, the ballistics of the limiter are adjusted to accommodate the different loudness type limiter settings.

The APU Loudness Compressor is a compressor/expander designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). This means the compression curve is a function of LUFS measurements instead of RMS or Peak. Guy Randle, the owner and recording engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, incorporates a lot of analog audio equipment when recording, including a Neotek analog console, tube preamps, vintage compressors, and other classic analog gear. While we've provided the as-is direct signal of the bass, we also included an enhanced signal as well, which adds some bite to the attack of the notes and also increases the richness and sustain of the bass.

L12X is an analog simulation inspired by the Marshall® Lead 12™ solid state amplifier of the late ‘80s.

The original head was an op-amp based amplifier: compared to tubes or FET/JFET transistors, the op-amp is able to provide a huge amount of gain with very little or no distortion. However, when the amplified signal reaches the voltage applied to power the op-amp, it gets clipped. Marshall engineers exploited that to provide a great sounding amplifier with very few components.
