this man spells it out like it is. free advertising via piracy.
if i was a recording artist (again) i would freely share it

Good points. I suppose a software company is better off having someone steal a couple of their products, love them, and then purchase new products as they are released in the future than that person never knowing how much they would have liked their products in the first place.

I guess it's not quite the same if we download ALL of their products and never pay for ANY of them though lol....

But hey, it's the internet, and let freedom (along with all of its inherent anarchy) ring!!! ;)

Fact is, downloading 25 .rar files over the course of 3 days is not what the average person considers a good time, so there will always be people who buy the product...

He did not explain it too well - sounds like Germany itself is blocking Videos.
This is not the case.

Google blocks all Videos in Germany that COULD have a copyright issue.
Perversely, they define any Video that is not specifically registered with a central databank (GEMA) as possibly illegal.

Piracy is mainly a problem for companies who make crappy products and don't sell much... then they blame it on the piracy, instead of their crappy product.

I make sure I don't buy crappy products, at least. :)

When a company makes a good product, it will sell, pirated or not. It's as simple as that. Music, too. Everything, actually.
