I recommend converting those videos using handbrake with the "web optimized" option ticked. It keeps the high quality and brings down the size a lot, there is absolutely no reason for this course to have almost 9GB. If you converted it to M4V I am sure it will go down to 2GB tops.

The goal is to rip them untouched from the source and i personal dont mind downloading 9GB.

This is not mastering material, it just a class, you don´t need 999999999kHz of audio quality here... I challenge you to convert one video to M4V with handbrake using the "web optmized" option. It will keep the 1080p quality, compare then original and M4V. To me it is the same thing without wasting HD space.
