Groove3 - Creating Epic Cinematic Compositions screenshot

Gary begins by welcoming you and goes over what you’ll be accomplishing in the video series, as well as plays you the cinematic production you’ll create together. He also goes over the software needed to produce this type of arrangement.

You’ll then jump right in, starting with creating string ostinatos, adding extra strings, horn melodies, brass parts, as well as how to create ambient drone patches to support and mystify the composition.

Crafting the piano motif is next, followed by how to use pulsing instruments to create tension and add pace to the arrangement. Gary then shows you how to add riser effects to build up to the big impact moment in the arrangement, for dramatic effect.

You’ll then continue on and see how to build up percussion parts, add woodwind flourishes, add a choir for a human element, what a Braam is and how make it more complex with strings and a choir, and how to bring back the piano theme at the end of the arrangement to tie it all together.

Concluding the series, Gary demonstrates how to mix it all with proper level setting, automation, EQ, compression and reverb, as well as how to export your creation as a stereo file and as individual stems to give to other audio and film professionals.

See the individual tutorial descriptions for more info. If you have ever wondered what goes into creating an epic cinematic composition, or want to start composing your own, this is a great place to start. This is 10 times better than Hans Zimmer's talking for hours without giving just a bit technique.

Great professionals are not always great teachers (and vice versa)...

Waste of 2.5 Hours in my life.

End track sound so stupid, I ll create better in 2 minutes.
People nowdays sell every shit they can get on their mind.

The guy has no clue what he is talking about.

Explained videos:
1. What is an Epic composition = blabbering shit.
2. Software = Useless video, who needs that crap.
3. Creating ostinatos = He already has piano melody, talking about chords, no smooth talking, no one realizes him, he is fuzcking stupid... Than he talks about cc#1 for fucking ostinato things, its done by fucking velocity in notes, not any cc#1, plays end of something that sounds shit with piano, sounds annoying like kid jumping over piano with legs.
4. Copied ostinato from first to second violins, took both violins ons tupid ostinato, instead having second violins to add high harmony slur like sound to fill up the atmosphere. Whole 5 minutes video to copy paste notes, well done moron.
5. Added violas in same registry as first violins, and made horrible sound, showing he has no clue what he talks about.
6. Using horns with in muted dynamic range, which will hurt your ears, creating some shit melody.
7. Trumpets for staccato chords? This shit idiot is out of his mind, wasting trumpets on staccato shit, instead using trombones to add staccato, and saving trumpets for climax as an horns and strings addon.
8. Using pad in an fucking epic track. ahahahahaha Imagine "He is a pirate" with a pad. ahahahahaha
9. Adding more shit piano, which should not even be in a fucking epic track.
10. Pulsating synth...yea right fool, you ruined orchestral instruments, lets fix it by some loop already done by someone smarter than you.
11. Risers and effects, EDM epic cinematic music, mjahahahaha.
12. Randomly percussion hitting, luckily that library sounds good however you hit it.
13. More percussion random hitting not knowing what hes doing.
14. Adding scale and wasting woodwinds on it. hahahaha
.......
Ok I won't go further.
This should be called..... "Groove3 - Creating Worst Without Genre Music I have ever heard in my life"

Whoever thinks this is how to do music, is a fucking idiot.

Gonna download other tutorial from this hairy shithead, just for laugh.

Also from the reviews
Overall a good course with some flaws
Overall, this course represents a helpful look at writing cinematic music. It does features some odd choices which would be considered by most professional orchestrators as poor writing (e.g. writing 2nd violins one octave higher than 2st) and some not very informed chord spelling (that B6 is not a B6 at all in that context) but it is very enjoyable and it gave me one or two helpful tips.

I hate Gary's pronunciation.
No professional talks like Maah, hiya etc..
Plus he talks as if he himself, started learning things a few days ago.
