A1. Preparing for installation
Make sure your operating system have all Microsoft Visual C++ 2005/2008/2012/2013/2015 Redistributable Package x86/x64 installed. Skip this step if you have done or proceed with spoiler below :

A2. Software installation
Step 1: Extract "Native Instruments Kontakt 5.v5.6.8 SYMLiNK FIXED Add Library Problem" contents to C:\Kontakt 5 -- create a new folder there!
Step 2: Click and run "Kontakt 5.6.8 Symlink Installer.exe" from inside the folder. Follow along installation window 'till done (See screenshot)

Step 1: Close all NI Kontakt applications and all DAWs.
Step 2: Simply click and run "Add Library.exe" from inside the content folder and select your library folder (See screenshot)

• To ensure performance, do not MOVE, REMOVE, RENAME anything in the content folder.
• To UNINSTALL program, use uninstall shortcut located in the Start Menu (See screenshot)

What if I never installed Kontakt before?

I have a new PC , and I haven't installed any plugins yet.

How about if I have the legit version of Kontakt? I of course cannot load some libraries without a licence key to the legit version (I own Komplete Ultimate 11) , can I have this running for those libraries independent of the legit version of Kontakt and use it with Cubase? Thanks

Update. I just installed this on two different computers, one clean and one with version 5.5.0.

This worked perfect for both.

All my libraries are still there as they were in the 5.5.0. Worked perfect.

The one with existing v. 5.5.0 is now upgraded to 5.6.8 or do you have two different installations ? Did you simply install over ?

Can someone please help me? I've installed this version of Kontakt with these instructions, but when I try to open it in FL Studio, it says "The Fruity Wrapper Plugin has caused a critical error while loading its state"

I think I'm on to something. I got Reaper and tried loading in Kontakt and it worked! So there has to be a problem with FL. Hope this helps you.

I found it! It's the firewall for your DAW. For some reason, this needs internet...

... ok it doesnt need inet but it does require your firewall to be turned off, turned mine off and it's working! in my case that's not really a problem as i almost never let my musicmac online but i can imagine some people not being very happy with this.

Also I tried it once and had errors but could not find the uninstall in my start menu. Now it is telling me there are integration problems when I tried to reinstall any help?

this should help the FL studio users that couldnt get the symlink version to work.

it's gonna seem weird but it's the firewall software that is causing an error, if you want to get the symlink versions to work you're gonna have to take you system offline and turn off your firewall. i have been struggling for days to get the symlink updates to work until i saw the reply by Usdllama about it needing internet, thinking that that would be a bit weird i just disabled my firewall and symlink was working without any problems

Hey I'm having a problem with Kontakt 5.6.8. When I try to add a library, I get this box telling me to get Native Access, do I need to install that before I use "Add Library.exe"?
