Bruce Emery - Blues Guitar From Scratch screenshot

English | 95 pages | PDF + WMA | 61 MB

First things first: the venerable Twelve Bar Blues chord progression, the backbone of the blues. You'll learn how to use the 1, 4 and 5 chords to do chordal accompaniment, the Blues Shuffle and the Guitar Boogie in the most common blues keys, A and E.
Then comes blues lead playing and improvisation. The Minor Pentatonic Scale in the Key of Em will be our first concern, with additional notes added as needed. Then we move on to the C-A-G-E-D box patterns that are found up the neck in the Key of Am and learn how to shape-shift. Finally come sections on slide guitar playing in standard, open G and open D tunings.

satch thank you for this serial of books, amazing how nobody voted maybe due to books are not popular but if somebody search for reviews they all got 5 stars or highest marks now that made to check this books, Now can tell you this is probably the best books for blues guitar so it is not surprise why people cherish it.

Author explain things simple in understandable way, even have cool seance of humor and what i like to He is humble and in last book ''Jazz guitar from scratch'' He point were to go further...

Anyhow i highly recommend it, for my 24+ years of playing and reading guitar books this for sure one of top 3 authors (together with Troy Stetina and Dave c. well Piter F. is great to)... Bruce have different style of writing and presentation of material but in a good way, He go to every little detail and also make you work after all guitar is participating. Sure there are books and methods that will ''bomb'' student with tons of scales etc but they lack good explanations and how to play in real life situation, this is were this book shines.
Book covers minor pentatonic, major pentatonic and blues scales, then it covers adding degrees in usual ''box'' penatonic patterns and were player can use them during solo etc. Beside ''blue note'' flatted 5th he explain all real deal pro blues degrees like 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 9th. That is extremely important IMHO due to young player who learn that will easy use latter mods and other scales due to lot of them can be found inside that ''big blues scale'' ....
Also He covers different turnings and even slide guitar, what is uber cool are BIG pictures of scale boxes and each degree is written inside of cycle, of course there are few with note name but IMHO it is much better to think about music in scale degrees...

Sorry for long bla bla but i hope this might be helpful for some student who have skip this cool book and author, sure there are tons of far more popular methods out there but don't forget marketing is powerful thing so they can be popular but for sure this book is by far better then majority of those. Wish i have discovered this author sooner.
Thank you satch for this.
