Do you think a DJ plays?
Well, he does nothing more than program a machine and it's not very complicated as it can be playing a real instrument.

You completely missed the point what DJing is about, it's not about musicianship, it's about selecting the right music the right time, acting and reacting to the crowd. That's why there's good DJs and people who only play down their playlists within Traktor. But I guess you never have been in a club, do you? headbang

There's x86 k but Reason Being installed x64 itself.
How can I install x86 version of reason?
as my memory, no option was appeared during installation...

fixed-----
sorry. the way include pdf.
1. Open the Reason DVD (or the Reason download package, if you have downloaded the program from the web) in the Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click the "Install Reason.exe" file and select "Create Shortcut".
If the file is on the DVD, you will be asked if you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop - click Yes.
3. Locate the shortcut you just created, right-click it and select "Properties".
4. On the "Shortcut" page of the Properties dialog, locate the Target field and add " /32" (without the quotes) at the very end. The Target field should say
"D:\Install Reason.exe" /32
(although the drive letter may not be "D", depending on your setup).
5. Click OK.
6. Double click the shortcut file to install a 32-bit version of Reason.

But on the other hand, have you ever heard of Kraftwerk? dunno Maybe not, because by your definition it's not real music.

My man. wink
I just brought them up today in the Music Can Be A Weapon post on AudioSex. This German group formed in the 70s was immortalized as the godfathers of electronic music and a lot of people don't even know who they are. Quite sad really. However, you can always count on people knowing Drake or Skrillex. Ugh!!! angry It eats me up inside.

meyk
can you and ( his story ) prove that?

we are men with egos, and it should not be suppress, as you do yours, when ever you want to bitch slap, you act like mother Teresa, thats not natural, thats a woman's way.

i bet you read this and still dont understand what am saying?

I don't need to prove it as historians already have. In fact there is no proof for practically any of the main figures in many disparate religions from Judaism (Moses) to many others as well. Historians agree that a man called Jesus existed but he didn't have many followers and for sure was not performing miracles. There were contemporaries at the time that wrote down every infinite detail about their lives and the people they came in contact with and yet somehow no mention of Jesus. Coincidence? I'm sure. Somehow there are records of many other people from the same time period but yet the religious figures are mysteriously absent in all of the testimonials. You would think the Son of God with all his amazing miracles would have snagged someones attention. The only facts that people do know about Jesus was that he was born, was baptized, was crucified (as many people were at the time), made a commotion at the Temple and some other boring pieces of a regular man's life. People just can't face their own mortality and find some aspects of life difficult to deal with so they make up stories to make themselves feel better. I have no need for such stories for even if this life is all there is that is more than enough for me.

Concerning your other comment: you don't even know me how can you make that distinction? I'm trying to be civil here because this is a public forum and we don't come here to fight. It is not conducive to this site or it's rules as rule 1 is to not insult other members (for whatever reason). People like to hide behind anonymity because there are no repercussions. In real life trust me I've been known to bitchslap people when I need to with quickness and precision. Besides that ego is the playground of children. I don't need to puff out my chest, put people down and act like a dick to feel good about myself. That is usually what boys do when they are unsure of themselves. When you're sure in yourself you come across as confident but when you're not you come across as arrogant. I'm confident in my manhood. yes PS Mother Theresa was not the great woman that Christians remember her as when they put her on this huge pedestal. You should do some research about the conditions in her Home For The Dying in Calcutta where she exploited many many people and the kinds of friends she was involved with including people that had stolen money and other heinous acts. People just like to ignore all those facts because nobody wants to be the guy to speak out against Mother Theresa. Well...I'll be that guy because the truth can be uncomfortable, as truth often is, but it is still truth.

for me the measure is simple this

when on stage and the power goes out.

can you carry on?

the answer to this is the answer if you can really play or not

been on tour with bands that had power problems and could not go on with the show and with bands that had power problems and carried on acoustically and rock'd!!!!!. too many bands rely on playback & comps with loops. if that goes so goes the show. I use loops in one of my projects but its all kinda background and carpeting. if i loose that on stage the meat of what i do is still tradionally based instrument.

there are some amazing people doing amazing stuff with electronics. but for me anyway i dont depend on loops to drive a song.. in the end its learn your insturment . work on song writing and not just dropping loop here and there

Honestly I don't understand why you guys have to keep pushing your point in a post on Reason. I mean does it make you feel better about yourself to put down electronic music or something? People write music to express themselves so who are you to tell them how they should do it? Nobody cares if they're closing some schools as there are plenty of people that still want to learn how to play an instrument just as there are plenty of people that just want to make music. Ever think that maybe people don't have the money to go to schools these days? Not to mention that you don't have to go to school to learn to play an instrument. Your statement is ridiculous because synthesis came to fruition in the first place when an artist approached Bob Moog and said that he wanted to create sounds that nobody has ever heard before so if anything I would say it's actually more creative. Whereas you're working with a physical instrument we're creating and manipulating the actual essence of the audio. Take additive synthesis which allows you to fuck with the partials that constitute a sound or frequency modulation which can create some absolutely awe-inspiring aural mayhem. This takes a lot of knowledge and experimentation so stop the elitist rhetoric. It's a music that pushes boundaries to create something new. I bet people said the same thing about jazz with its characteristic use of dissonance to the point where the harmony became stable. If anything life and music are about change.

It doesn't have to be an either or kind of thing. There are plenty of electronic musicians who don't use loops or who don't always stick to a rigid 4/4 grid me being one of them. And there are PLENTY of electronic artists who make timeless music. Like dokx1 said when he brought up Kraftwerk and I can add a million more to that example. I have their whole back-catalog and let me tell you that it has soul all over it. If it didn't I wonder why Coldplay made an homage to them with the song Talk which sampled Kraftwerk's Computer Love. Also if electronic music isn't memorable you have to wonder how come people still listen to 80s music in 2013. You hear Skrillex and you lump all electronic artists into the same category. It's just a different genre with different characteristics not a different discipline. The steady beat of a four to the floor pattern is conducive to dancing as it echoes the natural rhythms of nature. eltopo brought up some great points in his response as music throughout the ages has been based on repetition through rhythm, motifs, phrases, licks, etc. I don't get why musicians feel the need to be so elitist and snobby. Such human hubris. You make music how you see fit and leave everyone else to explore their own creativity. And PS art isn't about selling records.

Sounds pretty soulful to me:
Kraftwerk - Computer Love

Let me point out that the first comment on YouTube by david30906 said:
I heard this song when I was a teenager in the 80's,and I've been a fan ever since. Look at the world now...who doesn't love their computer!

Without deviation progress is not possible.

i remember the time reason was first released. really all users was amazed till end. some short years before, musicians cut samples in a tiny akai-hardware sampler lcd-display. ill be sure that artists \ electronic pioneers from the past (eg "kraftwerk") think today "omg, we spend hours, days, months in the past - if we had all the solutions of today..." (just think about KONTAKT, drop a sample in a region and press one button, now its ready to fire up -> AUTOMATIC TIME SYNCHED to all \ your hosttempo)

i think thats the problem (luxioury) of today, many here give a shit of a app like reason (even more they call it a toy) well... acid pro is also a toy, a toy who makes fun and you get cool results in a hell of fast time. we have maybe TO MANY solutions (like the refrain from a song called: "WE LOST IN MUSIC") because to many of this solutions steel also our creative mind because of testing all appz instead of using just a few individual things we REALLY need and begin to arange music with this what we have.

the good thing is: we have so many toys and serious appz... everyone should take his REALLY needed parts of that, ...if you dont like reason (or other things), why not ignore a post like this and go to the threads of the appz you use (with infos that users help, like many do here) the software is not the problem (as i say, we have all to realize -> low-cost 4 to the 4 music and pro music) the problem of today are some of the "users" and how they work with the appz they have. (maybe also a problem because you dont have to buy anything, if any audioapp would be non-crackable you where HAPPY to get a gift like "sound forge 1.0" and even more a REASON 6) but you buy most nothing of the appz you use and i understand that it's easy then to quote: REASON SUCK'z. (becaus you have AAAAALLLLLL and maybe TO MUCH alternate single synths and sequencers... and dont forget, i think a artist like "Hans Zimmer" is able to produce more stunning tracks -> with the cheapest soft out there , instead of "you" with all the pro-soft inside your system... but thats another thing... maybe similar, because everyone just think he is a pro-musician because of having all pro sounding tools \ easy to produce toys.) so long...

dokx1,
cracking tubeohm is not a good idea, they used ALSO a custom protection, that locate anyone who manipulate the code at the reversing process \ the user who work with the cracked. thats need even more eggs (to spread such a cracked version to all users out there) i like the vocoder, but im not sure if i would check it if cracked, im some in fear. and that fear is the best protection tubeohm can spread, they make a good job lol

Thanks mates
Apparently some people must think that just because electronic musicians also make music that somehow this detracts from their own experience. no

tracer
Absofuckinglutely. There's too much choice to see anymore. It's a gift and a curse simultaneously. In the past people were limited to a few pieces of gear at best (apropos they learned everything about them) and in the box synthesis and processing were still in their infancy. Now we've become spoiled with the plethora of tools available on the market. I guarantee you that if there were no warez and a possible crack for Reason 6.5 surfaced that people would be counting the seconds until the download finished. It's one thing to say that a program isn't for you but to totally bash the app and all the people that make music with it as well as with other programs but utilizing 4/4 time signatures and synthesis is stupefying to me. wow Especially since the overwhelming majority of music is in 4/4 and almost every genre is presently incorporating electronic elements into it. Nobody's taking away anything from how you want to pursue your art by having a different approach with theirs. I think that's what makes music so diverse and interesting. You can check out Floyd or Hendrix when you want to feel that kind of vibe and if you're in a different sort of mood or you want to just dance and lose yourself in the pulse of the drum then you can switch over to something new on the sonic frontiers. Instead of having conflicts over how the path we took is the correct one and ultimately has greater validity why don't we marvel at the fact that we live in a time where we can explore so much of what is available on the musical landscape? A time when more people than ever are making music and there is so much variety from artists and genres to applications, techniques and methods of composition and production. It's really an exciting time. phones

PS did I mention that Kraftwerk had an 8 night exhibit of their sonic and visual experiments at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York? Pretty impressive for such "souless" music.

Billy Boo and Guitarmaniac64, get over it. I took drum lessons, bass, guitar, keyboard, tuba, sax. I make 4 to the floor music professionally and translate what I learned into House music. Don't be ridiculous, it was hip hop that killed your precious guitars and the current mainstream stuff killed that. Don't whine because you have no place left to pluck yer overused for 60 70 years instrument but crappy cafe's for free. If you can't evolve than you deserve the feeling you have in your stomach right now... that's it, that washed up feeling. You can't even busk with a bloody guitar and make money in todays age. Maybe you should just rethink your whole life in general... Looks like when KISS told you to burn your Disco records you should've listen to more Disco instead. If you don't like Reason then wtf are you doing here in the thread or even looking at the product. Go troll somewhere else. I think www.washedupguitarplayers.com is looking for Mods, why don't you grab an effing Kim Mitchell Soda and head there ;)
