VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro v5.4.14074 CE screenshot
Team V.R 15 April 2016 | 38 MB
Vienna Ensemble PRO is the ultimate symbiosis of systems and workflows, providing cross-platform MIDI and audio hosting over LAN, mixing in stereo and surround (up to 7.1) with full parameter automation and optional one-click integration of Vienna MIR PRO. Insert Vienna Ensemble PRO as a plug-in on any instrument track in your sequencer or DAW and use it as a mixing host for Vienna Instruments and all your third-party 64-bit and 32-bit VSTi/AU instruments and effect plug-ins (such as Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Waves, you name it). The Preserve Instance function keeps all your plug-ins and settings loaded while switching to another cue, song, or project – a huge time saver! When used as a master-slave solution with multiple Macs and PCs you don’t need external MIDI and audio interfaces but a simple Ethernet cable.

As a Pro Tools user you may integrate your favorite AU and VST plug-ins in your sessions, and if you are working with Logic Pro X you may still use 32-bit plug-ins. What’s more, with the included Epic Orchestra you get a powerful all-in-one production tool to get you started right away!

Vienna Ensemble PRO comes with 3 licenses for setting up a multi-computer network. One license of the Epic Orchestra sample pack is included as well. Please find a detailed overview of all the key features and versions in the “Compare Products” menu and don’t miss the new Vienna Ensemble PRO videos!

Features

  • Cross-platform MIDI and audio LAN solution for Macs and PCs.
  • No audio interfaces, no MIDI interfaces on your additional slave computers – All you need is Ethernet with a Gigabit connection.
  • Full surround support up to 7.1 with integrated plug-ins for surround-to-surround balancing and mono/stereo-to-surround.
  • 3rd party AU (Mac) and VSTi (PC) hosting – Instantiate Vienna Instruments along with other 3rd party VSTi and AU plug-ins (works with nearly all available VSTi/AU plug-ins and supports multiple outputs).
  • Dual architecture servers – Run 64-bit and 32-bit Vienna Ensemble PRO Servers side-by-side on the same computer and integrate 32-bit 3rd party instruments into your 64-bit DAW and vice versa.
  • VST3/AAX Native/RTAS/MAS connector plug-ins – Supports up to 48 MIDI ports and 768 audio ports per instance.
  • Event input plug-in – Route MIDI data from your DAW into Vienna Ensemble PRO to circumvent the single MIDI port limitation under AU and VST2 formats (e.g., Logic, Digital Performer).
  • Audio input plug-in – Route audio signals from your DAW into Vienna Ensemble PRO, e.g., to turn it into a virtual FX rack on your slave computer.
  • Preserve Instance – Disconnect Vienna Ensemble PRO from your sequencer while keeping all of your instruments and samples loaded, and re-connect to a new cue or project without loading again.
  • Optimize All – Clean up your RAM by purging all unused samples of all instantiated Vienna Instruments with one mouse click!
  • Slave mode host tempo synchronization.
  • Plug-in latency compensation ensures full sync of all plug-ins inside each Vienna Ensemble PRO instance.
  • Fully mappable touch parameter automation – Control all of your plug-ins on slave computers right from your master.
  • Mixer Automation – Use AU/VST/RTAS/MAS automation from your sequencer to control Vienna Ensemble PRO’s mixer (volume, pan and sends).
  • Post-effect plug-in rack for processing after pre-fader sends.
  • Selective Project Merging – Assemble the channels of various existing projects into one new template.
  • Optional one-click integration of Vienna MIR PRO (sold separately).
  • EPIC ORCHESTRA included – a 9 GB orchestral bonus library.
  • AU/VST/VST3/AAX Native/RTAS/MAS plug-in or stand-alone.

edit : too much text to read.
Action: revert to standard much appreciated user behavior : open post, view post, check download links if interested, download files, ignore all posts, comments and everybody, close browser, live a happy life.
Result: nobody is annoyed, nobody has to read big long comments, mods have less copy-paste rules to do, smaller database, no fights required, no excuses needed. Saint is happy.
bottom line : why even bothering saying something? Answer : read 'Action'
Bad feelings: none. Just lost 20 minutes typing .could have had fun, farting 20 minutes.

to stay on topic (and avoid giving that boner and pleasure to a lawyer or policeman )

oh, fantastic post. Amazing. Team V.R., you are now the best of the best. Incredible work. Thank you so much.i love you. The poor musicians here thank you. You're so great. Mind-boggling. Incredible. Again, thank you so much.

    100% agree!
No company deserves to have their software publicly available for free, BUT if any deserves it, Steinberg is one of them. As VSL... As EastWest.

I really hope that they actually make better products for the people who actually buys them.

Man,this is a comment box not a confession booth.
Im sure Steinberg comes to warez forums and implements ideas from illegal users.
Get over it,the world isnt perfect.

I think you should jump out of your icloud and land somewhere without any trees or mountains, so you can have a clear sight.

95% of the comments here, are either people telling others to fuck off, people reminding people this isn't a request section, or people whining because there aren't enough free links...
So. .confession booth or not, many people will find my comment more valuable on interesting than 80% of the time. And afaik, I haven't read any rule fixing the char limit, or which letters of the keyboard are allowed here.

and a last thing... are you that innocent, to believe that STEINBERG isn't reading this thread? Don't know your age, but in case you don't know, it's been almost 7-8 years since the latest elicenser was cracked, with Cubase 5. This Vienna app uses the elicenser. Dont know what, but something is happening.
And according to you, steinberg learns one of his elicenser protected app got cracked and is now available everywhere, the main sharing page is HERE, and they don't care about it, and don't come here? Yeah sure.

    oops, over 400 chars. Alleluia?

First of all, Thank you very much! Sunny & Tem V.R.

Please tell me if I am worng or missunderstanding something about VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5.

I have been using during the past two years a combination of Copperlan (for MIDI networking) and Audioimpressions Audioport Universal 2 ( for audio networking), it is a 32bit system that can work over 64bit Windows and can handle 64 & 32 bit VSTi plugins using jBridge.

This system is completely stable and use an ASIO buffer of a size of only 256 samples providing 32 mono channels at 44.1/48 khz 24bit (+/- 5 ms of latency).

In this system the multitimbral VSTi instruments (Kontakt, Tascam GVI, Soundlib G-Player etc...) can route directly their own outputs to the host without the need of additional buses in such way that the sequencer receives each instrument output as an indepent audio stream.

The system is very simple and clear, each output of each VSTi is connected with a virtual wire to a Hub that has 32 inputs (the host) and routed to the remote computer where an plugin, placed in each input channels of the mixer, of the sequencer receives the audio streams.

You can have as many input plugins as physical inputs has the hardware of your audio system.

Here are my questions about VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5:

    1) I don´t undestand how to create a similar setup with VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 without creating an inmense number of buses (one for each output of each VSTi) cluttering the mixer.

    2) VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 x64 is supposed that has support for 32bit plugins but only the 64bit plugins are recognized when scanning.

    3) Using two buffers, the buffer´s size of the VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 is 4096 samples that´s more or less 45 ms of latency, completely useless for any realtime usage.
Is there any way to reduce the buffers size for to get a reasonable latency?

    4) What can I do with VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 that could not be done, for example using Reaper as host and Copperlan or MIDI over LAN for to route the MIDI messages?

The VEPRO server has 32 outputs - as I recall stereo. You can route to any output (no bus) or use busses and output those to 1 (or more) stereo out(s). What fit's best to you.

There are two server versions one with 32 and one with 64bit. But you could use jbridge which is what I do.

YOu can choose what latency you want to use in the VePro plugin in your DAW.

I guess it is less complicated to use VePRO.

    Confirmation
I can confirm this is working under win 8.1 64bit with Cubase 8 and FL Studio 12.

    How to Install:
    Just run the setup

    What is Vienna Ensemble Pro?
It is an extremely powerful and flexible tool for hosting all your Instrument Plugins, Kontakt Libraries, Synths etc in one place. This can be a big time save for workflow as well as for those who want to use old 32bit plugins eg REFX nexus in a 64-bit DAW without using Wrappers or Bridges.

It can be used in two ways:
    1) With two or three Slave-Master setups.
Eg Slave only loads the libraries and the master computer just plays off of the slave. This saves RAM,CPU as well as loading times. EG playing all CPU heavy synths from Slave PC and making rest of the track on your main master PC.
    2) As a Standalone.
Using a single PC, you can pre-Load your Heavy Kontakt Libraries, and other instruments only ONCE and then keep using your PC (at the expense of RAM usage ofcourse) but you can easily switch projects very quickly as you whole template is already loaded in a separate Application. If you use a 64-bit DAW but have old 32 but plugins that you want to use without any VSTbridge glitches, then this is the REAL solution.

    How to Use
After you install, there are four .exe files. Two Standalone apps (32 and 64 bit) and two "Server" apps (32 and 64bit). If you want to use it with a DAW, just run the "Vienna Ensemble Sever" (windows application). After that, load your DAW, scan for plugins, you will see a plugin called Vienna Ensemble Pro x64 (for 64bit) or simply Vienna Ensemble Pro for 32-bit DAW plugins.

    Steps:
1- Run Standalone App named Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (64-bit) and leave it there.
2- Run you DAW and load the plugin named Vienna Ensemble Pro
3- Click Connect, then connect to local host.
4- After you connect, your main Vienna Windows App wil turn into a plugin loader with a full mixer.
5- Scan for plugins from the app,
6- Load plugins (set the right MIDI input number
7- Load a MIDI out or a MIDI track in your DAW and match the MIDI number
8- Save your DAW project but dont' forget to also save the Vienna Ensemble Project. as the Instrument Plugins loaded can only be called from there.

If you get cracking sounds in FL studio, Check "use pre sized buffer" from the plugin settings inside FL.

Thank YOU Team VR and Sunny!
    Have Fun!

Thank you sir. Useful comment hundreds guys will use to install it, without a single thumbs up.

    just one question:
    Steps 1, 2, 3...
What about the elicenser manager installation, and the dongle protection ?

    Good info, Thanks.
Installed, I can only see installed Vienna Ensemble Pro x64 and x32 into the file. Servers are in a strange blind mode. Fortunately they are shown making a search into C:\ and copying the result.

Yes, I can relate. Search from startmenu files.
Here is the exact directory where you can find all 4 programs.

    Continuation and ending:

    5) Looking to Vienna Ensemble PRO 5 is easy to remember Gigastudio 3, many of the graphic logic resemble that host, but the logic of Gigastudio design was to have at the end the capability of to sample its own output, getting the multitrack files or directly the master in a single process.

The people of VSL developed this software as a replacement of Gigastudio, this was part of many discussions in VSL forums during 2008 and 2009.

What´s not clear for me, is how can, a host that has not the ability of sample its own otuput, enhace the creative process instead of increase its complexity without any benefit?

FWIW, this seems pretty similar to Reaper's Reamote feature it's had for years, and you can have as many slaves as you want. Reaper is $60 and has a billion other features, this is more than 4x that.

It works great, but hasn't been improved for a while, so I imagine this has extra features for "power users". The main advantage of Reamote is that it's totally integrated and you're not relying on anything third-party. When the slaves are offline it just uses the main computer.

The small downside is you need the plugins installed on both machines, whereas maybe VSL doesn't...

If any Reaper users know of major advantages of VSL I've missed, I'd love to know about them...

Thank you Tramp, I found part of the solution: There is a small "+" sign in the right down part of the strips channels that expands the VSTi instrument in its multiple channels.

Now that I can load some heavy Kontakt libs in a zap, I'm just wondering if I still need to buy this 1 TB SSD for my libraries...

    EDIT:
After further testing, there's no need to buy a SSD drive at the moment. I don't know what's the catch but I can open one session of Kontakt fully loaded with a complete instance of Albion (strings +brass + woodwinds) in less than ten seconds. And all is running on the same PC, this is sick.
