VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro v5.4.14074 CE screenshot
Team V.R 15 April 2016 | 38 MB
Vienna Ensemble PRO is the ultimate symbiosis of systems and workflows, providing cross-platform MIDI and audio hosting over LAN, mixing in stereo and surround (up to 7.1) with full parameter automation and optional one-click integration of Vienna MIR PRO. Insert Vienna Ensemble PRO as a plug-in on any instrument track in your sequencer or DAW and use it as a mixing host for Vienna Instruments and all your third-party 64-bit and 32-bit VSTi/AU instruments and effect plug-ins (such as Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Waves, you name it). The Preserve Instance function keeps all your plug-ins and settings loaded while switching to another cue, song, or project – a huge time saver! When used as a master-slave solution with multiple Macs and PCs you don’t need external MIDI and audio interfaces but a simple Ethernet cable.

As a Pro Tools user you may integrate your favorite AU and VST plug-ins in your sessions, and if you are working with Logic Pro X you may still use 32-bit plug-ins. What’s more, with the included Epic Orchestra you get a powerful all-in-one production tool to get you started right away!

Vienna Ensemble PRO comes with 3 licenses for setting up a multi-computer network. One license of the Epic Orchestra sample pack is included as well. Please find a detailed overview of all the key features and versions in the “Compare Products” menu and don’t miss the new Vienna Ensemble PRO videos!

Features

  • Cross-platform MIDI and audio LAN solution for Macs and PCs.
  • No audio interfaces, no MIDI interfaces on your additional slave computers – All you need is Ethernet with a Gigabit connection.
  • Full surround support up to 7.1 with integrated plug-ins for surround-to-surround balancing and mono/stereo-to-surround.
  • 3rd party AU (Mac) and VSTi (PC) hosting – Instantiate Vienna Instruments along with other 3rd party VSTi and AU plug-ins (works with nearly all available VSTi/AU plug-ins and supports multiple outputs).
  • Dual architecture servers – Run 64-bit and 32-bit Vienna Ensemble PRO Servers side-by-side on the same computer and integrate 32-bit 3rd party instruments into your 64-bit DAW and vice versa.
  • VST3/AAX Native/RTAS/MAS connector plug-ins – Supports up to 48 MIDI ports and 768 audio ports per instance.
  • Event input plug-in – Route MIDI data from your DAW into Vienna Ensemble PRO to circumvent the single MIDI port limitation under AU and VST2 formats (e.g., Logic, Digital Performer).
  • Audio input plug-in – Route audio signals from your DAW into Vienna Ensemble PRO, e.g., to turn it into a virtual FX rack on your slave computer.
  • Preserve Instance – Disconnect Vienna Ensemble PRO from your sequencer while keeping all of your instruments and samples loaded, and re-connect to a new cue or project without loading again.
  • Optimize All – Clean up your RAM by purging all unused samples of all instantiated Vienna Instruments with one mouse click!
  • Slave mode host tempo synchronization.
  • Plug-in latency compensation ensures full sync of all plug-ins inside each Vienna Ensemble PRO instance.
  • Fully mappable touch parameter automation – Control all of your plug-ins on slave computers right from your master.
  • Mixer Automation – Use AU/VST/RTAS/MAS automation from your sequencer to control Vienna Ensemble PRO’s mixer (volume, pan and sends).
  • Post-effect plug-in rack for processing after pre-fader sends.
  • Selective Project Merging – Assemble the channels of various existing projects into one new template.
  • Optional one-click integration of Vienna MIR PRO (sold separately).
  • EPIC ORCHESTRA included – a 9 GB orchestral bonus library.
  • AU/VST/VST3/AAX Native/RTAS/MAS plug-in or stand-alone.

You don't need the content. This software is a host for your VI's and plugins if you know how to do the routing. It's very simple. The content is just another library but from Vienna. This is a powerful plugin because you don't have to run ur VI's in the Daw but can run independent of the daw. RAM will be the most helpful especially if you use a lot of VI's and plugins.
Example host Kontakt, Omnisphere and other CPU intensive programs.
That way you can keep buffer relatively lower while composing.

Actually, with VEP buffer is increasing, because you add another buffer on top of your daw's buffer...so overall latency is a bit bigger if you host your VIs inside the VEP. But to be able to use one more machine for composing without having to invest in another audio interface (and other benefits that brings) makes that increased latency very negligible.

This program is a killer accompaniment to Pro Tools, awesome combo, you can load whatever instrument you ever wanted in pro tools and instantly recall it.

    Strange:
"You don't need the content." + "The content is just another library but from Vienna."
Ok, we ll look for a Vienna Lib... obviously not an old Kontakt one ;)
    Where? Time will say.

Vienna Epic Orchestra comes included with the VEP, but those are dated samples. The main purpose of VEP is to host plugins...all plugins, not just vienna instruments. I use it to host a lot of Kontakt instances on the slave machine, but also on the master.

It's a piece of software from Vienna for routing audio and midi over network.
Install on first PC machine with large space and Kontakt and run as standalone... load Kontakt instances by channels.
On main DAW load VEP plugins into channels and connect to host.
What you have got is system where you can have 3 machines with big space (DUAL CORE) with running instances of VEP, and the main DAW can use it without interrupting self space and RAM....

Tested with my system right now and everything is working correctly.
Scanning of plugins in VEP is pain in ass - it's so slow, like in Digital Performer, but never mind I have time :)
Downloaded version of VEP5 for mac too.
On my PC run VEP5 Server (x64) and setup session, added few KONTAKT instances...
On my Mac run LPX and added few channels with VEP send (stereo) and connected to my PC_HOST session.
It's very nice to see LPX meters now, CPU = 0%, HDD = 0% and I play Cinesamples brass :)

Before installing, install eLicencer from Steinberg

Because you have installed licence on Win side, Mac licence is not needed

    THank you
Anyone in Cubase 8.5 and win can advise me?
I managed to get everything working however I want to load several kontakt instrument per one instance and rout them into different channels in cubase, I can't seem to make it work only 1 output is working in cubase..
      Member 11.08.2014 91
    +32
Well, I'm using an older version of cubase (v5) and have successfully added eight stereo outputs (one for each seperate kontakt in a single instance of VEP) so i assume the principle to be the same on later versions - have you *activated* the additional outputs in the VST instrument?: to do this left-click the small icon just to the left of the intrument name in the indstrument panel list (click the F11 key to display) and you should see a list of additional outputs displayed... simply select as many as you like!

Great release btw - VERY cool work team VR!!!

Plugins scan is crashing like crazy.
Anyone else having the same problem?
As I'm writing this I realized I confused this with the Instruments one... I thought this would replace the old Performance Tool.
Are these entirely separate programs or should I look to make this work in case the other one appears around here?

    **********EDIT********
Nevermind, its running now and I got a warning saying it didn't include it.
I'll leave this here just in case anyone else wonders the same thing.
