•FIXED KSP: In certain cases, the ui_file_selector element would revert to its base path, forgetting the last selected file (v6.1.0 regression)
•FIXED KSP: Controlling most convolution parameters from KSP was broken (v6.1.0 regression that caused all related controls on many instruments to become unresponsive)
•FIXED KSP: The getter for $CONTROL_PAR_HIDE would not return the right value if the value was $HIDE_PART_BG (v6.1.0 regression that caused severe cosmetic issues on Spitfire products)
•FIXED KSP: Any use of $HIDE_PART_CURSOR would always apply to all cursors of the xy_pad it was used on as opposed to just the one intended (v6.1.0 regression)
•FIXED Kontakt would crash when trying to load an instrument that had automation assigned to controls that were removed after the assignment (v6.1.0 regression that affected certain products by Big Fish Audio and 8Dio)
•IMPROVED Kontakt's new Auto-Apply feature (introduced in 6.1.0) now ignores changes in subfolders of the watched folders (anything deeper than scripts or performance_view)
•IMPROVED KSP: All PGS-related coding mistakes are now Warnings instead of Errors, both in how they are shown in the Creator Tools Debugger, and in that processing doesn't stop
•FIXED KSP: There were some unexpected behaviors around the use of nested panels and certain Z layer settings
•FIXED KSP: The getters for $ENGINE_PAR_WT_FORM_MODE and $ENGINE_PAR_WT_QUALITY would always return 0
•FIXED KSP: Info Pane text would not appear for ui_button controls

I chucked my TV License a few years ago. I prefer to watch internet content that contains something closer to reality. I have noticed however, that the channels that get near to the truth are also the channels that end up shadow banned, de-monetized and banned all together in some cases! Hmmm!

thanks for the update. i was just wondering, why doesnt kontakt version 6 come 8 outs.dll or 16 outs.dll? for an instance of kontakt 6 the maximum i can load is 4 instruments, right?

Who knows.
The 8 and 16 out dll's in previous versions were just loaders for the original Kontakt 4 or 5 dll. Maybe these functions are now integrated into the main dll's. Just try it

No, that's not correct. This single Kontakt.vst (for Kontakt 6) provides 64 outs, just like the Kontakt 5.vst did.
They just skipped the two other loaders for some reason. Probably they analyzed the use of system resources and found that in this version 6 there is no benefit of those limited outs-variants.

One thing to notice: those limited-outs variants are using less CPU. Noticeably so. If you don't need more than 8 or 16 outs it is better to use those.

However, maybe they somehow optimised the aux outputs CPU consumption in this new version... but I highly doubt it. NI has been into shitty programming for many years now. The bigger the company, the bigger the shit. :(

I notice Kontakt 6 does not have its own 8, 16 or 32 Outs like Kontakt 5 has. Please let us know if you know why that is (it may be relevant that I kept Kontakt 5 as I installed Konakt 6)

You better keep your Kontakt 5. There is no advantage whatsoever besides regaining 400 mb of space on your C: drive with uninstalling Kontakt 5 if you install Kontakt 6

But the newer libraries always requier newer Kontakt versions, right? So if one wants to use them you got no choice but to update as far as I can tell.

You didn´t get it, he meant keeping Kontakt 5 along with Kontakt 6, as they both are separate VSTis, and also recognized as separate ones from your DAW. So if you want to open older Projects in Which you used Kontakt 5 still, you should keep it along.

Is this a symlink thing?

Edit:
Nevermind it is not. So I got rid of the symlink thing and installed this instead. I know I did not have to do this but I have never been a fan of the symlink thing. This seems to work fine

Thanks to both who have shared this wonderful update. I would say though that it is quit confusing have both of these in the same post and the conversation leading to well both.

So just to clear things up...
can you do a fresh install of Kontakt 6.1.1 with either post in this thread? And does "r4e" the only one that has the "add library" feature?

TThere are several possible answers depending on your current setup. If, like me, you have Kontakt 5 installed, use the original Sunny port to install and patch Kontakt 6.1.1. Works fine. It does not overwrite Kontakt 5 and happiliy runs both on the same machine.

If you already have Kontakt 6.x installed, use The Prirate's explanation to patch Kontakt 6 to the 6.1.1 update (using the patcher or doing it manually).

As for the addlibrary, it is a standalone program. Once you have copied it somewhere on your PC (mine is located at "D:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Native Access\AddLibrary.exe" because I chose to install to the D drive), then create a shortcut and pin it to the task bar in Windows.

Hope that's clear or post again for more info.

I have Kontakt 5.8.1 installed but not 6...anything yet. I have been hesitant on installing the latest of Kontakt 6 cause of all the posts as of late late with .02, .03...etc.
So with this, I will install Sunny's version and go through the motions. I already have the "Add library".exe installed from the 5.8.1 version so I dont think I need to use this one (unless Sunny's version is different or something) other then that, thank you again for clearing this up! Appreciate it big time!!!

Only doing what the other peeps above did for me.

Anyway, you can install confidently. It seems to have worked out fine for all and you can keep running versions 5.x and 6.1.1 in parallel. I have.
