Microtonic (a.k.a. µTONIC) is a VST / AU plug-in for Windows and Mac featuring a unique drum and percussion synthesizer combined with a pattern based drum-machine engine. You can use Microtonic as a sound module to play drum sounds from your MIDI keyboard or sequencer, or you can use the built-in pattern engine to play drum patterns in sync with your sequencer. The sound of Microtonic is 100% synthetic and rendered in real-time. No samples or pre-rendered waveforms are used.

I ran the uninstaller from the new programme, uninstalled when it said to do so. Ran the new software. Patched it immediately before running it.
It works fine here:-

Win 7 64 Bit
Ableton Live 9.7.3



By the way.. The stand-alone works fine too. I bunged all three files on the desktop..



Just a thought, but does the problem only happen with anything newer than win 7 ?

From all your comments, it is hard to determine what the problem is with the patch. It seems a bit random and there are no DAWs that don't work with it at all [it seems]. First I thought W10... [lol] but then it seems to work for some people with W10 and it doesn't for some with W7. Interesting problem. It could be a difference in VC++ runtimes Or some system DLLs that all Windows versions have in common. Maybe some AV/antimalware software?

I haven't found the time to test it, yet. I'm very busy currently.

Thank you mono so much for your effort, mate! This one's a real hard nut to crack. Years ago, AiR tried and failed, as well. R2R's version also bombed for me. I just gave up on it years ago. It isn't so special, either. I tried mixing with those sounds and it didn't sound that good to me. Weird, since so many people praise it. Maybe it's me?

p.s. Your The Legend 1.2.1 crack doesn't work in XPx86 with Reaper 5.18 and the problem seems similar to this. Their demo from the website works normally. Must be something in your cracking technique that makes the plugins unreliable to work with all Win versions and/or DAWs. Just trying to give you a hint, possibly. Not criticising, god forbid. I'm utterly thankful for everything we get!

Besides, nobody will die without Microtonic... I didn't. LOL But it's definitely a great challenge! I mean AiR couldn't crack it... :shock: Dig in!

My bet is that it may work or not depending on what you installed before...

I had it installed before and treated the installer like an updater, then replaced the DLL, and it worked.

I was trying to fix it last night and taught it was just a win 10 error as well
then got lost reading the post and didnt know were to start.
I found a user that has helped sort where the error could be
and have a new patch that should work now on all O/S
If the demo version works then the new patch should work i hope.

3.1 works just fine..

1. Disconnect from the net.
2. Run regedit. Locate "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NuEdge Development" and delete it.
3. Run Microtonic, hit register, enter Becky's serial and email.
4. In Microtonic's preferences turn off automatic updates.
5. Add (host) 127.0.0.1 *.nuedge.net
6. Connect to the net.

I got Microtonic working with Bitwig 2.3.4.
This is the first install of any Sonic Charge product on my OS.
Installed demo and start Bitwig. Microtonic demo works.
Replace patched ones and Bitwig marked Microtonic dll's now as failed.
Started Bitwig explicit as admin. Rescaned Microtonic dll's successfully.
Loaded Microtonic now without any problem.
Exit Bitwig and start Bitwig again without explicit admin mode and Microtonic plugins are working! ^^

EDIT: Has edit my "host" file with:
127.0.0.1 vox1b.nuedge.net
127.0.0.1 www.nuedge.net
127.0.0.1 nuedge.net
In Windows "hosts" wildcards (*) are not working!

Worked on my laptop (win10 x64) not on my main machine (same win)
After reboot it crashed.
V3.1 is previous release (thanks miss Lomax)

for this "release" (some kind of "internal trial reset") does not..

I deleted all my sonic charge crap cause this is not worth it for a crappy drum machine thingy. sonic charge plugins are not great. good luck to everyone!

Wow do I feel like an idiot. Apparently I did have this installed on my laptop at one point. I deleted all the related registry entries and now I can get it to run in Reaper and Ableton under Win 7 compatibility mode.

Tried it (system x64, W10e)
Cubase 95 (x64 host): fails (instablacklist, crash on reinstate) works w/ x86 Bridged
Cubase 5 (x86 host): crash, couldn't get it to work.
Reaper (x64): works (bridged) dunno about normal use.

Not a total noob. But that's the results I got. Same install procedure as Oly.

Okay! I've got this working in Windows 8.1 Reaper x64 (still crashing Live 10).

Problem I was having: Multi version crashed Reaper upon startup. Temp solution: delete multi dll, but where's the fun in that :/

Real Solution:
1. Uninstall everything.
2. install the 3.1 version from here https://audioz.download/software/win/66281-download_sonic-charge-microtonic-v31-incl-sn-win-and-osx-free-file-storage.html
3. registered with serial provided
4. run the 3.2 installer (it says it needs to uninstall the previous version before installing, let it)
5. patch

And that's solved it, for Reaper at least. No luck with Live yet. Will update if anything goes wrong/right.

Edit: welp, looks like Reaper decided to randomly go back to crashing when I load either version of the plugin. Oh well.

Also here with Bitwig. After set some options for testing can't load Microtonic anymore. Bitwig engine is crashing. Also in KushView Element.

Well its a shame it doesnt work.. ive tried the demo it out i seriuosly think its a unique and awesome vsti. Sadly i didnt get more time with it (expired long time ago) so thats why i was hoping this would work. Well, sometimes they have sales so maybe i should take the offer even if im not sure it will be usefull, even though its an awesome plugin..

Thx for your effort mono.. and i will send any feedback (on 10 aswell). Benn trying on 3 diffrent systems but the same version of 10. Seems to work on early win10 but not after the bigger ones this fall.. Anyhow.. be safe all..

Really strange!
Uninstalled everything from Sonic Charge (NuEdge).
Installed demo. Test it with KushView Elements (Bitwig the same) and demo works.
Replaced with patched fix2 ones. Start Elements, loading microtonic and, voila it works. Quit Elements, start again, loading microtonic and ... crash! :(

Iam on latest Win10 x64. Big THANKS! mono for trying this baby!

Thanks for your effort, I got it to work after many tries in ableton 10.0.1 and 10.0.2. What worked for me was running ableton in win7 compatibility mode and as admin. both the multi ver and the regular version now work perfectly. For now that works and doesn't seem to prohibit any other plugins from running.
..On another note I plan on purchasing this one because its just a kick ass system to make interesting patterns quickly and easily. This plug is a must have for anyone making electronic music period.

At first, Studio One 4 (Win 64) wasn't even scanning it. Then, when I ran it as admin, it has scanned it normally, but crashes instantly when launching.
