Thanks for the feedback, should help zero in on the issue at hand. Anyone NOT having this problem and got their library working as usual?

As a workaround, you can go to the Settings and add the library location manually (separately adding both the kit folder as well as the samples folder) then rescan both locations.

It should take a while to finish because there are about 12000 samples.

Afterward, all the kits should be available in your main windows.

By the way, I use Factory Library version 1.0.1.

Not the nicest solution but at least you guys can use this great program. This works for me.

Hope it helps,
Mr P.

Same issue here!

I even tried to set the Battery Library again but there is no "folder icon" to set the path as described here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/1106/the-battery-4-factory-library-does-not-appear-in-the-software/

Before this update everything worked fine.

for those having issues with library content,
the install log does not show any library entries saved into the registry

you should be able to manually load (and save) the library location again

edit: after installing open the standalone, click on library and it should load in the library again, (select library folder location if it does not) click the button next to the magnifying glass at top / edit / preferences / library
feck it, I'm going to bed

Anyone knows the source of this error ?
I try to manually install it

[EDIT]
I tried to reinstall version 4 , but I get the same error!
There is even no uninstaller here on my system listed in my control panel.

Any idea how to totally uninstall Battery ? So that I can start a clean install?

:(
[EDIT]
Solution: msicuu2.exe

Shoot!
I found a working solution.
1. Install Battery 4.0, Library V.1, plus the Factory Placer, and make sure all the content show up in the Battery browser.
2. Install Battery update V4.1.0, Library V1.0.1, plus the Factory Placer patch and as last time make sure it shows up in the Battery browser.
3. Install any add-ons, expansions and/or custom libraries.
4. Apply the latest update V4.1.5.
5. Run the NI Reg patch as administrator.
6. Re-run the Battery V4 Factory Library Placer(as administrator) FROM the directory you have installed the Factory Library.
*7. If the content files won't show up in the browser, just rescan. Else goto 8.
8. Make happy beats with another fine release of Battery V4.1.5.

You're welcome.
Took me a while to figure out what's going on. It seems that R2R buds were just as excited as the all of us to get this out, so they accidently did not include the 4.1.5 LibPlacer. So the magician had to cataball a bit here and there :)

Hello there Gentlemen...this is my first post on this incredible community......I must say thank you first of all for all the hard work you talented guys do to make our musical possibilities so limitless !!!

I may actually be able to lend a helping hand to the people who are struggling to solve this missing factory library problem which i also encountered....

After trying all the helpful suggestions made earlier in this thread i was still unable to restore the factory library and so my solution was to completely uninstall the 4.1.5 version of battery using revo uninstaller pro....making sure all of the registry settings were also deleted......i then installed this version from tracer

/software/61602-download_native-instruments-battery-v410-cracked-tracer.html

I then configured the factory library 1.0.1 within the 4.1.0 version of battery using the library placer...i also configured my user libraries within the 4.1.0 version

I then simply installed the 4.1.5 update as an update only and hey presto i have the latest version with the factory library and user libraries all present and correct

i think the problem may be when people are using the NI_InstReg_Battery4 crack so they can install the 4.1.5 version without having a version installed already...which is what i was trying to do originally...it may seem a bit of a hassle to do it this way but trust me i had it sorted in 15 mins

Sorry for the long winded post but i hope this eases the frustration some of you may have been feeling

Keep up the outstanding work!!!

Missing library?

Possible workaround:

1. Downgrade to Battery 4.1.4

2. Open Battery 4.1.5 data folder (in the R2R .iso)

3. Search for "Battery 4.dll" and "Battery 4.exe"

You will find both x86 and x64 versions of those files. (the x64 versions are the bigger ones)

Copy and paste these files over the installed Battery 4.1.4 files. (backup previous files if cautious)

Seems to work, though we are assuming NI only changed these files with the update.

Let me know if it helps, or if you run into trouble.

All that shit happens just because of a missing NI Service Center!
So this is what i found out ...

My setup: Battery 4.1.4 + Factory Library 1.0.1 - NI Service Center not installed.
Battery was updated step by step (4.0.0 → 4.0.1 → 4.1.4 all R2R) to prevent that
well known crushing bug (when just using v.4.1.4 for a fresh installation).

So what should i say ... after updating to v.4.1.5 -> r.i.p. factory library

After uninstalling, re-installing, uninstalling, re-installing ... trying all
suggestions made in this thread, only ELpH's workaround did the job.

But i was fed up with it - installing all those update steps over and over again.
So i decided to start one last attempt: Dudsworth350's suggestion.
And it really worked ..... as long as i decided to uninstall
NI's Service Center coming with the installation of Battery 4.1.0 (TRACER).

Battery 4.1.0 (Tracer Version): get it here

So do it this way and you are fine:

1. Install "v.4.1.0" from TRACER (you don't have to crack it, just install).
2. Run "NI InstReg" from R2R as admin (included in update 4.1.5).
3. Install update "v.4.1.5" from R2R.
4. Create a folder for the Factory Library (any location).
5. Run "Battery4 Factory Library Placer" from R2R as admin in this folder.
6. Install "Battery4 Factory Library v.1.0.1".
7. Copy "Missing Kits" into the created library folder (%FACTORY_LIBRARY_DIR%\Kits\).
8. Start your DAW, rescan for new plugins and run Battery (or use standalone).
9. Battery should now automatically initialize the library.
10. Configure your user libraries.
11. DO NOT UNINSTALL NI SERVICE CENTER!!!

Big thx to Dudsworth350, ELpH and Xiny6581 for the inspiration ...
