Just one Question to Tracer. As you know actual NI-Software isnt compatible to WinXP (but most of it is in real..but NI did an OS check and doesnt install on XP machines) I tried to find out where this fu..ing OS check is in their installers. But I'm not a programmer. Maybe you can take a look. I bet its only a bit somewhere that calls a OS version check.

I dont need it for my PC as I'm on Win7 but so many people out there are still using WinXP. I know it because I once made an XP fixed Version of KONTAKT (but I used a really fucked up complicated method!!!) and really a lot people downloaded it. There should be much easier ways!

im not really deep into this XP thread, but no prob. -> i take a look on this "XP thing" the coming days... (check it on my VM-ware XP and see if there is a easy solution to fix it , maybe pm me wich method you have used with kontakt, so i maybe can code a universal app wich uses your method and finally work maybe with all ni-appz...)

The problem is not that the NI Apps will not run on XP machines..Its only a version check in the NI-installer. So stop your rancorousness! angry I just asked Tracer if he is able to take a look..and I also hope you read, I'm on Win7.

The full-installer is aviable ... dont really know if also a crack is aviable for this latest version on Mac (maybe there is a "IND" release on the way ?!) -> dont know

yea i checked nothing for mac so far. I'm running machine 2.0 software on mac and only thing that works with it is Kontakt 5.3 and all my libraries. I guess i need Battery 4.1, Massive 1.4 and Reaktor 5.9 and Razor, pretty much an update for every product so that they can work with the machine 2.0 software. i see everything was released for windows but nothing for mac yet. is mac installers a lot harder to crack? must be

It is not really complicated to install it on XP when you have a Win7 PC available. Install it on Win7, open Regedit and save the Native Instruments registry entries for Battery, copy all its files, too. Then import this registry key that says where all the Battery files are into XP, copy all the files into proper places and it will work. ;) For me this is the easier way than looking for OS check up in the installer, but skipping the OS check up should be easier to make so people who don't know how to copy files and merge registry keys [yes, people don't know basic stuff like that] can use it. Cheers!

Dont forget about those who dont have a WIN7 machine available. I mean..what should be the reason to use it on XP when you have a Win7/8 machine?

At the moment there are also much easier ways possible to use new NI-stuff on XP. You simply have to install an older version and after that extract exe or dll from the actual release and overwrite it on your system...But nevertheless it would be nice to have lets say a little generic WINXP Fix for all they actual apps. Maybe some kind of small program can be made that changes a few bytes at their installers. I dont know..but maybe it is that easy.

already R2R changed something in the last kontakt which wouldnt install on xp,and worked like a charm!!!

Lukehh, I tried this trick and it doesn't really work. If you copy the dlls and .exe of, let's say, Kontakt 5.3 over a Kontakt 5.2 installation, clicking on the interface you get a "Kontakt 5.3" message. But alas neither plugin or standalone version of such faux installation recognise any libraries made for Kontakt 5.3.

So, it would definitely be nice to have a little generic Win XP Fix wink

Finally this is no longer a problem for me. dance

XP for roughly 8 years:
Viruses: 0
Security Breaches: 0

Hopefully now that my security is even better I can continue that winning streak. Full time job though being on top of all the latest especially with viruses like Windows Update threatening to take you out before any actual malware payload. It's all in the planning I guess.
