As you don't clearly stipulate if you're trying to install it within a PC or a MAC OSX System, the following is SOLELY valid for the WIN PC Version :

As rightly said by 'Team R2R', as well as 'Lemmy' :

FIRSTLY, Run our NI_InstReg tool (executable : '.exe')
(Preferably, run it as 'Administrator')

This 'Team R2R' useful Tool (also present in other of their Releases) will in fact 'fake' the Update Installer(s) of some Native Instruments Products, and that's the reason why you can afterward install any Update without necessarily have a previous Version installed...

As this 'magic' Tool only works for WIN PC, if you're trying to Install the MAC OSX Version, I can only suppose that you'll need first to find an earlier Full Version of Absynth 5, to install it, then you'll be able to finally update the whole with that new Version posted here ('v5.2.1').

I work on Mac, Maverick...and I have full version already Absynth 5.2.0 installed in Application folder/Native Instruments/Absynth but I steel can't install it even try to Batchmod the install in vain...

beaucarty, I was having the same problem with Mavericks. Forget Batchmod, install only the plugins you want using Pacifist. It worked 100% for me.

Actually, for Mac users there is really no need to go through the tedious process of installing a full version of Absynth before installing this update. Here is how.

You can get both the Abysnth app & plugins working by using the freely available app called 'Payload Extractor' to extract the files. You may download this app at http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/45385/payload-extractor

1. Once the Absynth installer is loaded into Payload Extractor, drag and drop the folders, cracked Absynth app & plugins to their respective locations.

2. Configure Absynth using the cracked app placed in the Applications folder. For example, In Absynth app, go to File--->Options to configure the various files and folders. For example
I placed my default Samples Directory here - Internal HD:Users:[username]:Documents:Native Instruments:Absynth 5:Samples: and my default Template Library at - Internal HD:Users:[username]:Documents:Native Instruments:Absynth 5:Libraries:

If you have problems launching the Absynth app, use the free app "Permissions Reset" to set permission for the Absynth app.

3. I manually loaded the Program files- 'Load' & 'Save.' for the *.pls & *.ksd files. Thereafter, every Program, Sounds, instruments, effects etc shows up.

4. After configuring and testing the Absynth App, I launched my DAW (Logic X with OSX Mavericks) and tested with an instance of the Absynth instrument. Everything should work.

Load up a sound and crank it up!

Does anybody else have an issue with one of these entering Demo mode upon startup? I have Pro Tools 10, Logic X, and the standalone app open at different times. It appears random. I didn't have this issue before the update. The standalone is fine, but the .dpm started going into demo first. I noticed the VST do it, next. I reverted to 5.1.1. I'm just curious to know if anyone else ran into this issue.
