Is that the right path? Can you see the path in MAschine 2 Preferences? I cant, though I rescan.

The Maschine Library can be installed anywhere, even on external drives. So I guess it can also be moved around (I haven't tried that thouht.)

Thanks for your kind help, but unfortunately after following your instructions and even taught I can see the old library in the browser, every time I select a project or a group I get the same missing path/file/sample error.

Dont despair, this can be fixed. But let me give you the details first.

The reason why Maschine pops up the 'cant find samples' in the first place is because the conversion from V1 to V2 has 'hardcoded' the path to the samples into the Kits, Loops and Project files. If the path that was used during the conversion was not the actual location of the samples, (for instance Maschine may have used the default user path under Documents if nothing else was specified), Maschine obviously cant find them.

But luckily NI have thought of such scenarios and provided an override for this. When the 'cant find' window pops up there will be a button labeled 'Locate'. Click that button and navigate to the folder that contains the Samples folder. (In my case this was the Factory Library folder of the Maschine 1 Factory Library, since that is the only library i have.) Maschine will then write the path to the specified location into 'komplete.db3' located in 'AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Maschine 2' in order to override the hard-set paths. As a result the 'cant find samples' window will no longer pop up. (I have tried this setup several times from scratch and it worked flawlessly every time.) To force Maschine to write everything from scratch just delete komplete.db3 and rescan the library.

Alternatively you could delete the converted files (i.e. all except the samples) and do the conversion again, this time making sure that the path that goes into the files is the location of the folder that contains the Samples folder.



As for the other PMs ive recevied, i will try to answer them in detail later but i have to go now. I dont know when i will be back but i promise i wont forget you. In the meantime you can try what ive posted here.

Thanks again for your last post. I will get back to you after trying. Meanwhile, I sorted out my issue with the plugins. It was my error I was using the 32bit standalone pointing to my 64bit plugins folder... silly me

I'll try installing, but I forgot to load the library from 2.0 - might take a while.

Added it under "Preferences" - "User", shows up without problems.

Does not work on my system - when I click locate nothing happens..

Now that would be a little TOO tedious, wouldnt it, considering there would be hundrets of samples to be located. (lol)

No, the whole point of the override path is precisely so you DONT have to fix every Kit/Loop/etc manually. In other words you dont locate all the individual samples by hand, but merely tell Maschine the directory that contains the Samples folder so it can locate the individual samples by itself. To do that simply highlight the dir that contains the Samples folder (which is 'Maschine Library' unless youve renamed it) and hit OK. Since Maschine now knows the location of the samples, everything will work normally.

Yes.

If you use 'Import Maschine 1.x Format', Maschine will convert the files and save them (if i remember correctly) in the standard user directory, which defaults to Documents\Native Instruments\Maschine 2.

Unfortunately I uninstalled Maschine 1, and I cannot find a way to get the Library 2 release to work with R2R's Maschine 2.

I think another fix is necessary.

If its just that Maschine doesnt show a path for the Factory Library simply create the required registry entries manually as i described in my first post. Then delete komplete.db3 to make sure everything is written from scratch and have Maschine rescan the library. (It should do a rescan automatically when you start it and no komplete.db3 exists.)

There's no "Add" button, so "Rescan" does not work.

Look at the Regfile from R2R, you can apply the update without previous install then.

For anyone who gets "Need to activate with Service Center" error when loading instruments or kits, get the tiny "Fix Only" file (56kb). Run the .exe inside... done. Works perfectly. Thanx, R2R!!!

Still no luck with fixing the library - am I really the only one where Maschine 2 does not work with the library?
