Timebomb is what it says a timebomb it can be triggered months after you install the plugin.
Uhe used to do this alot.
4 july was one day around christmas another and it bombed for everyone it doesnt matter if you never is online i didnt even had my pc setup for network (i used another pc for download and moved files to my studio pc with a usb stick) and it always timebombed those days.
A simple change date fix it.

I have been using team VR fabfilter for years. Not a single timebomb.

IDK what y'all are doing wrong to trigger the timebomb.

I've also been using team VR FabFilter for years without a single timebomb. We both must be doing something the others aren't. In fact the last couple of problems I've had with any plugins were both R2R releases.

I know other V.R releases (not necessarily Fabfilter) have timebombed. I' can't remember if Fabfilter has. I wonder though if the people that mentioned the timebomb are confusing the recent Fabfilter Timeless post from someone else (which DID timebomb) with a V.R release.

Also, I think you two might be misunderstanding what people are saying. Very specific V.R releases have timebombed... and V.R has re-released them with fixes to remove the timebomb. It's not like anyone is saying "all V.R Fabfilter timebomb eventually!" And if a post timebombs, it generally gets pulled, so a lot of people won't even notice there was a release that timebombed. Just saying.

If there's a timebomb in a release, no one is doing anything special to trigger it.

Either way, nothing wrong with being a little cautious and waiting to see what happens for others. I don't think anyone is actually criticizing V.R .. sometimes stuff gets missed accidentally, and no one wants their hearing damaged from developers not playing nice, like Fabfilter. Actually, I shouldn't say that... I haven't heard the noise in the time bomb. If they're just playing a little noise to ruin the mix vs. trying to blow your ears out, those are two different things (the former I have no issue with).

They quickly release the fix if their release timebomb and I install the fix version. As simple as that. I have never had a problem with any of their releases because they release fixes as well for the releases they forget to Crack properly.

Never got time bombs on fabfilter plugins lol. Im beginning to think some people have an issue with V. R.

No timebomb here (had that with the last V.R. Fabfilter bundle and the Timeless 3 individual release) 4+ hours, Windows 10, Ableton 11, both VST2 and VST3 seem ok.

For new versions of already installed software I always extract individual files from the installer and then test with DDMF Plugin Doctor if the plugin and the crack basically work (at all). Then I manually copy the files of interest to their destinations and delete the rest in extraction folder with one click. Among other things, you do not crowd your HD with unnecessary PDFs, links, uninstallers, presets, TXT files, etc. and your registry with keys, values and data for the plugins you do not use and do not even have on your HD.
Seems like a lot of work, but it's much less then searching and deleting unnecessary files and folders (might be hundreds of them) after full installation.
