As written - did you read ? - the settings on 5 lead to a good sound, if not a real tube amp behavior. Otherwise, nope, it sucks.

Well, this one sounds great for me. I've owned several amps for the last 20 years, and it comes pretty close to a real 800...It feels great to play, and they've addressed the fizz issue pretty well...And it doesn't cut my sustain at all; Tried it with several guitars.

So many ppl swayed by one guy's opinion. I'm not saying he's wrong, or doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sure what he says is valid for him. Still, it's one person's opinion and experience. I like it myself which has no more or less validity.

It seems you're happy with it. Then use it.
I explained here in details what to check. That's easy to re-do.
Also it is that I'm not alone, not even on AudioZ. But the guys who write me in the background are SO fed up with what usually happens here " in pubic " if one DARES to contradict the general preset opinion set by the dev propaganda, and it's getting worse and worse.

So, please, it's finally simple, let's go back to the roots, and, as proposed above : let's play on an AC / DC album with it, or else, and let us compare the sound of it. Or use the John NORUM melodic tune above. I don't care about the false notes, we'll listen if it renders in the same way. I'd prefer the Gary MOORE listed because of the sustain of the chords, but any similar " checkable " track is welcome.

I already did my part, as you can read in a previous comment. It's VERY interesting you see, because there are only 3 downloads of that mp3 file, so even the people who want to proof me wrong did not listen to it, to give it a real test. That - too short - demo shows that we can play with that plug-in and have a certain BIG rock sound with it, edgy, tight, the opposite of what it seems some guys think my aim is here, or maybe it's my English.

You're boring now. Really. Please read, don't try to " reverse " what I wrote about, and do your demo. Because at this moment, all I find here is yada yada about impossible phases and " how possibly could it be NOT good " and " the sound of that 800 is amazing ", but nothing to listen too.

MLM played real sexy groves with it, real tight / precise, - so that plug-in can do this, that's all good . So no need to read the previous text, it's all here again ( 3rd, 4th time ? ).

it's one thing you have real amps at your disposal , we are talking about a plugin here and a very good one. i just don't understand why you bashing this ampsim if you using real amps? buyers remorse ?

anyway, peace man, hopefully one day i can afford a real plexi or jcm800, and congrat on your deep knowledge and help for this community. and i'm truly sorry if i came across rude

sounds like very long sustains (to me), maybe i'm wrong, doesnt really matter anyway. we live in interesting times and it's always good to have perspective to old and new technologies and recognise both their strengths and weaknesses. can you imagine what will come in 10 years?

Personally I never take seriously these marketing tricks, I only use my ears and taste, if I like it, I dont mind if it is close or not to the real hardware it's supposed to imitate...

It must be said, or we'll be desperate to try our best with it and it won't reach that richness of " power " we hear in our favorite rock records. Then we stop playing because we feel it's our fault that the results suck. So that " exact clone " thing is really important.

Same opinion for the tons of pedals out there who don't offer the sound claimed. Happens all the time.

You're unfair : I wrote here, to you, yesterday, that, OK, I'll give it another test, maybe I was wrong with the initial POV. In that case, if it rocks as you say, I'd simply use it, all good, it can be handy.

That was done. To show it was not just blah blah and fake virtual test, we recorded it, not the best conditions, not the best mix. Result was as written. It's OK on 5, anything else out of the way. That's all.
