sonible releases A.I. powered compressor plug-in

smart:comp is the latest addition to the product line of A.I. powered plug-ins by sonible. This unique spectro-dynamic compressor finds the parameters for well-balanced compression results in just a few seconds. Through frequency-selective processing, smart:comp also ensures unparalleled transparency. With this multidimensional approach, compression has evolved to the next level.

smart:comp is the synergy of intelligently enhanced time-domain compression and trailblazing spectral compression. Behind the user-friendly and intuitive interface of this new plug-in, runs the smart:engine – an A.I.-based, content-aware system designed on the basis of psychoacoustic principles as well as extensive hands-on mixing experience.

The time-domain compressor recommends the most appropriate settings for threshold, ratio, attack and release with a single click, as the spectral compression dynamically keeps an eye on the tonal balance of the input signal.

* Our release does not require the installation of iLok driver.
* Our release loads faster and use less memory than original.

I would say, Cockos Rea-fir does all that shit much better and actually can do a lot more. And it FREE. Try it if you still not. It part of their reaplugs.

its good on cpu which is nice but its not the lowest latency i would hope for. this thing would be my go to compressor but its the 46 ms of latency that makes me want to avoid using it. especially for live tracking. i hope they will come out with a live version like smart eq live.

quote by hn89aI solved this with smartEQ by running my DAW as admin once. Then the pop-up stopped. (Credit to the valued member who proposed this solution to me.)

Youre welcome

Been playing with this one for a couple days now and I kind of like it. Can't really describe it since it actually behaves so differently than other compressors. Using it gently on the drum buss @ 2db GR medium att & rel is glue-ing stuff quite nicely

On S1 Cpu consumption is barely noticeable :^)

Cpu isn’t a problem at all. I can add 6 instances and my cpu is barely at 11% with a low buffer size of 128 samples 3ms. However, how are you dealing with the plugins latency? Reported 46ms latency. It doesn’t seem like that much when playing back audio or keyboard but there is a slightly noticeable latency. I tried changing my host buffer to 64 samples(2 ms) it helps but also at the cost of more cpu usage. So I’m stuck between dealing with the extra latency or lower buffer size with slightly more cpu usage. If this plugin had near zero latency it would have been perfect and I never would need to use another compressor ever again.

Yes, also experienced this short latency issue. And totally understand your point while using keys. It seems that it is not possible to further reduce that lag. I find this can be used more as a 'finish/polish' tool than a live/tracking one, I'm trying it on a couple biggie projects i had already premixed and it is really shinning there.

Maybe, if it is crucial for your workflow or vibe, it would be worth it to 'copy' the curve Smarteq is creating for your program with Q-clone and then use that while you track/record. But since it might be kind of a hassle it could be a bit more easy just to emulate the eq compensation smarteq is giving you with other eq plug, like pro q-2 and such ones and just throw this one after

Any idea why when I add it in Presonus it closes the DAW and exits?
I have Win 64bit :

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM

It seems to have installed okay... really don't understand why it closes the DAW!
Any ideas guys?
Thanks

A really nice sounding comp.
The AI future is a good starting point for some genres. Not my cup of tea though.
The Auto gain should be in every soft comp! PERIOD
