Helix Native - Critically acclaimed guitar and effects processor in a plug-in format.

Like the hardware members of the Helix family of guitar processors—Helix Floor, Helix Rack, and Helix LT—the Helix Native plug-in features accurate recreations of vintage and modern amplifiers, speaker cabinets, microphones, and effects, as well as extensive signal-routing capabilities and an intuitive user interface. Not just for guitarists, the Helix Native plug-in is also ideal for producers and engineers, sound designers, film/TV/game composers, electronic musicians, and anyone else seeking to craft new and exciting sounds and special effects. And preset compatibility across the entire Helix family allows Helix hardware users to bring studio-created sounds to the stage by simply transferring their plug-in presets to their Helix Floor, Helix Rack, or Helix LT processors.

DESIGNED TO INSPIRE
The most sought after amps and effects models.

The interface provides a fast and intuitive tone editing workflow, so you can instantly access your entire signal chain and quickly tweak your settings. Helix Native also supports 3rd party impulse responses (IRs), offering even greater tonal flexibility.

TAKE YOUR TONES FROM STUDIO TO STAGE
Seamless workflow and broad compatibility.

In S1 v3.5 on W7/64 works w/o problem. Just installed VST and VST3, nothing else to setup there.

Thanks to VR and Decibelle, I was looking forward for this release although I knew it will make my guitar sound like plastic.

Reinstalled, now did it as admin. Still stuck. Also, I tried to run the plugin in Reaper with same result

All I did was install it, opened up a new song in Studio One 3.51 and when through a few presets, I don't remember if I dragged the VST2 or the VST3, since I installed both of them, but everything worked fine

Thx, DECiBELLE / Team V.R! Awesome, always looking for new guitar fx. Comes in surprisingly handy (and addicting) despite not owning any real gee-tars.

Yeah, there is a timebomb =( it's triggered by use I think; it's moar like ~2hrs offline I reckon. U can try reinstalling, blocking in hosts:

127.0.0.1 line6.com

and checking that AppData\Roaming\Line 6\Helix Native\purchases.dat is read-only. Also that it exists!
Thx to anybody posting Spitfire / OTB libs!

It works great, and thanks to CE-V.R for that, but it sounds and feels really artificial, pretty much like older amp sims like Guitar Rig...Very brittle and sterile.

Bias, S-Gear and Destructor sound much better and feel way more natural in terms of playing responsiveness.

I wouldn't buy it, but thanks for allowing me to try it. :)

Yeah, agree totally, just from playing around w/ presets; admittedly on just a couple libs. Only found one (Archetype clean) that I liked, and I scrolled thru most of em as a demo. Sounds rly filtered, or as if smthn is missing. Maybe like smthn isn't turned on? Must investigate when I cba...

Anyway, the UI is rly clean & easy & awesome, compared to Pod Farm. Wish they'd kept (or better improved) the sound on that and just released this as a skin :D
Thx to anybody posting Spitfire / OTB libs!

This plugin uses the same algorithms as hardware that cost a bit more than a few bucks, so I think that people who use Line6 hardware are strongly biased towards hardware and they love it because of the money they have spent.

Too many people claim this Helix to be nothing special, so I tend to believe them.

However, thank you soooooo muuuch V.R. for the opportunity to test it without any hindrance!

p.s. I use analogue pedals... software distortion is still not there IMHO. But YMMV, I suppose, eh? :)

There are tons of videos on youtube that shows that Helix is up there with AXE FX and Kemper soundwise.

Just look at shoptones , sinmix and sonic drive studios to find awesome tones diealed in on Helix

And when it comes to userfriendly and functionality non of Kemper or AXE can match Helix
AXE:s s.c scene can't be compared to Helix snapshot
Helix snapshot is like scenes on steroids.

However both Kemper and Axe sounds better out of the box as the factory presets is Helix really suck
AXE:s reverb and pitch effects is much better though also the rotary is better on AXE the effects on Kemper is not as good as on helix i.m.o

Helix Drive and OD pedals is probably the best there is those are spot on when compared to the real deal.

Unfortanetly you have to dial in the sound from scratch yourself with Helix and use filters to get Helix to shine soundwise.

Here is a video of how you can start and then build your sound from there

Well i suggest using IR instead of the built in cab and even with IR you may need to put an LP/HP block after the IR but dont filer as heavy as it will sound dull.
Use maybe 100-8000 and adjust to taste every system sound different i find that the normal cab filetering that real cab uses works best in most cases that is somewhere around 100 - 7500.

Or just use something else that sounds great out of the box, like S-Gear ;)
  Resident 1.07.2015 4 649

Why teh hell would they bother including loads of presets to demo Helix, if 99.9% rly suck? Seems more like a process / filter issue than prob w/ just presets per se.

Also, the IR thing is totally borked, seems like u can only use mono, and I can bare understand even how to load "imported" (stupid idea how they did that) ones :( Ownhammer don't even seem to work, nothing drags & drops...

Thanks for the release!
Sadly, I'm stuck in the login screen, tried installing and running the software without internet. I am using Win 7 x64 and Studio One 2.

that's what i have expected to hear, yet that does not make me want to even try it.. we have missed nothing, pass on..!

i would have excluded Bias from the what you have mentionned, today the best vst amp sims: 1) UAD-2 (if you can afford it) 2) Scuff. S-Gear 3) Destructor all the rest is total joke, outdated flat sounding garbage for trash

S-gear for trash? wow i havent found a decent heavy metal tone on that ampsim yet probably will never found one either old 70.s hardrock tones is good though but it stops there.
I never get the hype S-gear has i prefer TH3 and Revalver even Amplitube over S-gear.
And i can get decent heavy metal tone on Helix aswell but Axe and Kemper with bought profiles of course the free ones is not so good is a little better for those genre.s

Just opened it and it seemed to be working, but left my project for an hour and when reopened the GUI it was asking me to sign in.
Any workarounds?
I used VST3, is it the same with VST2?
