No Sound Left Uncalibrated
Retain neutral sound for all audio outside the DAW.

Hundreds of Sources, One Sound
Reference 3 Systemwide upgrade calibrates all of your outgoing audio. Finally a dependable sound standard is now available outside of DAW for seamless production and referencing. No more dragging files into your DAW project just to have a listen or figuring out how to check if your kick blasts as hard as the best of them on Soundcloud.

Reference sound everywhere

All audio maintains the same neutral sound signature both in and out of DAW, including software that does not allow plugins. Listen to reference tracks from anywhere - comparison to out-of DAW sound sources just got way more convenient.

Set up and forget

Systemwide utility has been custom-developed to work together with Reference 3 plugin therefore it's easy to use, stable and avoids double calibration - it turns itself off when it detects an active Sonarworks Reference plugin.

Make Neutral Sound Your Daily Reality

The whole audio performance is perfectly consistent - whether you are producing music, or simply enjoying your favorite mix on Mixcloud, now you can be sure not a single audio detail has been missed.

The best and cheap is their mic, 50$ for a flat calibrated mic.

Good effort. They all show up as "invalid file" for me though.

I don't really wanna entertain disguised requests, but there already is an OSX version about. It's version 3.2.11.26 and is available if you look around, such as on some favourite RUssian Tracker sites.

There is also a slightly older version on Audioz too: https://audioz.download/software/mac/87013-download_sonarworks-reference-v30410-macosx-pitchshifter.html

The search box and Google are really not that hard to use!

What you say is not true. This update is different and only on Windows. On the Russian tracker its the old version. The OSX reference version that is online is only for in your DAW. This version/update is System WIDE so for everything. Chrome, VLC it changes the whole output and only on windows right now. So there is a difference.

Google isn't that hard to use!

Anyone else having issues registering their free trial? I keep getting an activation error with online licensing activation.

I've also just gone through their 'offline' licensing mechanism, shows the free trial license as active on their site, then i import the license and it brings up the same error with online licensing activation.

Tried in Ableton 9.7.1, Studio One 3.3.4 and Maschine 2.6.2, and all DAWs have full access to internet and no antivirus software installed.

Very confusing, unless they've caught onto it and turned off their activation method somehow, which would seem daft as it would also affect genuine prospective buyers?!?!

Yeah, I had the same issue with registering the plugin version (online or offline), but it works with the Systemwide version. Try registering the Reference Systemwide, not the plugin.

Fab, cheers. Worked for me doing it that way too!

I think this maybe needs to be in the instructions for it as the Sonarworks instructions tell you to install the plugin, activate it using the free trial, and to do all that before installing the Systemwide app.

I installed the plugin, installed the app, and then activate free trial through the app and this gave me the reference files to copy before uninstalling all and installing this VR version, before copying over the reference files and replacingtheones the VR package installs.

are there calibration files only for headphones, not for speakers (apart from yamaha ns10's and another set) ?

quote by bumyummerare there calibration files only for headphones, not for speakers (apart from yamaha ns10's and another set) ?

Bumyummer, speaker calibration is achieved by measuring YOUR speakers in YOUR room so generic calibration files would be useless.

Well I can confirm that the procedure of installing/deinstalling trial then substituting the original headphone Files works fine. The authorizing of the headphone files and linking them to your machine is almost instantaneous.
This means that a very minimal amount of code or information is added to each Headphone file to make it valid.
I am sure some of the more codified members here could have a look and see what has been added so that we could just amend them ourselves and not have go thru that trial hassle. Any takers??

Tested, I find it strange, with lost of volume... I have tried headphones trial version before, and the same, even having the apropiate ones... Comparing I finally prefer IK Multimedia ARC 2.

Why this preoccupation with the Headphone function?!?
This is only a minor part of the Software's purpose. Mixing on Headphones is a losing game anyway regardless of whether you have these dubious averaging EQs. You don't need Sonarworks for this anyway. Most of the major headphones have their frequency response published somewhere on the net and all you would have to do is apply appropriate compensation to flatten out the response>

Oisinn, published frequency responses are far from accurate and every set has a different response. The headphone calibration software is also far more detailed than an ordinary equalizer as it works on the basis of FFT sampling. Yes, mixing on headphones isn't an ideal situation but there are multiple situations where properly calibrated headphones are of use such as bad rooms, inferior speakers, mobile work etc. I can assure any skeptics that there simply is no other software that does the job as well (for headphones) as Sonarworks... Room / Speaker calibration is a whole different ball game though and a vastly more complex scenario which software can do little to correct.

Hello, Reference work well for me, but i've got a problem with the settings of Systemwide: regardless of any output device select on my RME fireface, i've got an Audio error in Systemwide.
I can calibrate and use reference in my SONAR platinium but Systemwide don't run properly.
What's the problem please ?
Thx

The Calibration and References are useful but I'm beginning to think the Systemwide is a bit of a nuisance

THIS IS WORKING 100% on WINDOWS. I know this has been said several times already: You need to register a trial version beforehand if you do not want to have the "invalid file" error when trying to load up a calibration profile file.

(01) Register at Sonarworks to get a TRIAL key emailed to you.
(02) Go to the Sonarworks site and download a TRIAL version.
(03) Install it then and register it with your key.
(04) Open the program up and utilize one of the calibration profiles then close it / exit out of it.
(05) Copy your Sonarworks Projects folder to some place safe.
(06) Now you can safely delete the Sonarworks Projects folder from the default location.
(07) Uninstall the TRIAL version.
(08) Install the V.R version.
(09) Delete their newly created Sonarworks Projects folder.
(10) Copy your saved Sonarworks Projects folder back to that location.
BOOM.

The activation works ONLY for the system you initially activated it on. Want to use it on another system? Register with another email address and go through the same process. Copying/sharing your Sonarworks Projects folder to another system WILL NOT WORK.

If you're still having calibration profile "invalid error" problems peep this: Some people get half of the calibration profiles working and not the other half. The reason this happens + the fix is explained on their website: https://sonarworks.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206112451-Headphone-calibration-files-are-missing-

really nice, i got it to work easily following the instructions of Dj elite (thanks!)

But im noticing that there s only two setups for the monitors (not the headphones)

I thought there was suppose to be more (like the ns10 s etc..)

Do you guys have access to those after the install?

Thanks! :)

You need a calibrated mic to make the measurements of your room+speakers and apply the correction. There is not an universal calibration
