XCTR is a multi band harmonic exciter based on our Head Crusher saturation.

Harmonic exciters can give a shine to certain frequencies in the mix.
They can be used on drums to make the cymbals shine, bring up the kick drum on a stereo bus, bring some life back into a dull instrument, or even some shine to the whole mix.

Myself liked single band Head Crusher more. Prefer to do crossovers manually with eq like Equilibrium and then use any single band plugins rather than built-in plugin filters. But this can save quite a lot of time.

Head Crusher and XCTR shares the same distortion engine, but one is single-band, the latter is mutiband.
