Modartt Pianoteq 5.3.0 Extended Trial VSTi Standalone x86 screenshot
r4e | July 15th 2015 | Size: 29MB
Pianoteq represents the future of virtual pianos, providing the best and latest technology available. The sound is reproduced through a physical model that simulates properties and behaviours of real acoustic pianos. This results in a remarkably playable, vivid and adaptable instrument. The size of Pianoteq is just 40 MB (MegaBytes) and installation is quick and easy. You can use Pianoteq on any modern laptop and connect it to your MIDI compatible piano keyboard.

NFO:
This trial/demo version of Pianoteq 5.3.0 Standard is an extended
32Bit only version as VSTi and Standalone. There is no need for restarting
the instrument after 20 minutes anymore.

As a little extra I included some piano midi files and 5 great FL Studio 12
Templates based on a project by the user Bruttospritz which allows you to
use the full range of Pianoteq 5 including the normally 8 silenced notes.

Thanks for this one.

Can you please clarify why this is still called an Extended Trial if there's no need to restart the app after 20 minutes?

Also regarding the templates: Does it mean that if we don't use FL Studio, we don't have access to the full range + 8 silenced notes?

Nope, you could try to reproduce the settings used in the templates in the DAW of your choice. I'm a FL Studio user since v3 and I never used another DAW instead of Cubase from time to time - means I'm not able to do it for you without getting into the basics of other software and I'm very lazy in things I don't need more than once.

Extended just means: it's still the demo/trial version with the 8 disabled keys but you can use it as long as you want instead of 20 mins. To extend the extension (weird) to work like the full version, there are these templates which are especially for FL users. If you don't use FL Studio, you just get the time extension which makes the trial "extended".

Sorry if I confused with my writing, I worked from yesterday 5 pm to today 6:30 am and now I'm really sleepy.

greetings, r4e

Stupendous technology, but it came absurdly too late, would like to see all this small size 'Modartt Pianoteq' with that giant technology at least 20 years ago. Today we can load better pianos with all gigabytes in our pc.

But if you feel that the high notes sounds a piano, sorry, but your ears have a problem, or you do not play piano. But, remember I said: Stupendous technology

It's never too late: We might be able to load a 50 GB piano (or whatever else) in our PC but can you imagine if we can have identical result while loading less than 100 MB?

Physical modeling is the future and it's only the beginning.

Yeah today we can load all gigabytes
Your thinking is upside down.
The only reason for huge Sample based libs is our current incompetence in accurate physical modelling. Pianoteq, among a couple of other companies, succeeded in producing quality modeled key instruments.
It's way more versatile, it's tweakable, it's lighter, it's clever.
When you need the "right piano" in your mix, either you have a dozen of absurdly huge sampled libs or you have one good synth that you can tweak and tune the way you like it.
As a matter of fact, it's all dark

Exactly, for 'perfect' physical modeling, you don't need any samples.
Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

needs retail installer and the dll is custom packed, not worth the hassle.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

quote by HerrDurrwhat kind of copy protection does this thing use,
if someone wouldn't mind telling me,and why has it resisted cracking
for so long

Apparently it is proprietary copy protection.

"..all instruments will go silent after 0 minutes."
reminds me of the Doomsday Clock, 0 minutes to midnight... :DDD
I just love it!
Once again you're the man, r4e! :)

Thanks a lot r4e, these templates are loading succesfully in fl 12.0.2, is it possible to open them in earlier fls (11)?
  Releaser 24.05.2013 26 1119

Nope but I can recreate em for you in FL 11.1.1 if you like.

Update: Installed and running in S1 x64 with jBridge.
It sounds very good and I can live with the 8 silenced notes. Brillant!

Would anyone mind going into details of how the 8 silenced notes are simulated in FL12?

And are they recreated seamlessly or is it more or less obvious that it is a fix?

Thank you for answering. Are the fake notes velocity sensitive 1-127?

yes. In a nutshell: it's all about controlling 4 Instances of Pntq5 (4 in FL, could be even 2, depending by the DAW's channel features). One is the original (with 8 muted keys), the other 3 have those same keys transposed by a semitone while all the others are muted. The problem is: you have to edit both your DAW and the vst tuning parameters, if you work only in your DAW, when you're almost there somehow Pntq detects you're trying to cheat and makes the key skip to the next or previous tone. I solved the issue in Pntq itself by detuning ALSO its keys till I got to the right tuning (checked with a guitar vst tuner). Maybe I'm not giving a so-exhaustive and detailed answer but, seriously, I'd have some difficulties to recreate it myself now. ;)
