• the 8 disabled keys are still silent
(F#1, G#1, A#1, C#5, D#5, F#5, G#5, A#5)
• you will see a little message once in a while
(Pianoteq is running in demo mode...)

It doesn't install on my Windows XP... appears two error windows while installing:
1st: "You must enter the full path with drive letter"
2nd: "Cannot focus a disabled or invisible window".
I cannot solve these, whatever I do

I'm just getting this error, when I don't have path-names in the dir-select-page (now Tested it on XP SP3, 7, 8 & 8.1 x64 & x86) even if the path doesn't exist in your Filesystem.
for example:

Standalone 32Bit:
blibla <--- wrong
"C:\Program Files\Pianoteq 4" or "D:\YehWhat\MoPiteQ4" or... <--- correct

VSTi 32Bit:
blibla <--- wrong
"C:\VST Plugs" or "E:\MusicStuff\VSTi" or... <--- correct

So even if you deselect the Standalone, there have to be a path in the text field,
otherwise the error occurs and normally the installer adds a standard path like C:\Program files\... prevent creating such error

Useless and crappy release!! If it is called x86, why the hell does it require Only 64bit OS for VSTi plugin?! And standalone cannot be installed either - it says, wrong path. As I can see, the only stable release at the moment is 2.3, to which I shall stick for now.

For those who got problems on XP:
I have to admit I didn't test the installer on XP.
I've hidden the Dir Page where you can select the normal Program Files path and recreated this page to allow more than one path (VST & Program Files in this case) on one single page. Gonna test it on my VM with XP SP3 x86 and fix the code so it also works for you! Will update the post later!

Hope you all have fun tryin that nice instrument for hours and more, like I did in the last days.
Unfortunately I have to say - there won't be a v5.x in near future since I got it to work like v4.5.5 but without any sound (all keys disabled). As I said, I'm no real cracker / I don't know much (anything) about RE and stuff so I couldn't recognise the problem.

Thanks for the update. Any way to fix that installment bug of yours - it requires 64 bit OS for 32 bit plugin? Thanks in advance. By the way, the same problem (wrong path and requiring 64bit OS for 32bit plug-in) is on Win XP 32 and on Win 10 32. So it is not only an XP problem...

Yeh, that 64Bit bug - I forgot to change that line.
I update my installer scripts and create new installers for new programs & games very often. Now I used this one from my previous project (x64 & x86) which reads a path in the registry and gives out an error when that path doesn't exist. That error was "64 Bit OS required". I thought I changed this into "VST path not defined" and enabled that field instead but perhaps I saved the wrong window (had the script open in some more windows). Will change that! It's no 64Bit related error!

Sorry, but with all due respect, the release is still fucked. The same problem - no proper path for standalone and 64 Bit OS required line for 32bit VST path... I am back to Pianoteq23. Thanx for the effort, though... Those make no mistakes who do not do anything.

This simply can't be true!
I completely removed the "64Bit" code from the installer and fixed some other bugs I found (btw. also the line "64 Bit OS required" has completely gone from the installer). That means you aren't able to get any kind of 64Bit related error message.

I tested it on all Windows OS from XP to 8.1 x64 and x86 except Vista and it did install like it should and I allready got replies via PM from other users with "thanks, now it works on XP".

I bet you just want to tease a bit with wrong facts - thats all.
Otherwise try to download the new installer from the new link, not the old one from the old link and install the new one (and not the old one).

I am not the one to tease - I am trying to help. :) What I downloaded four or five hours ago was not working. Have just downloaded it from the main link (not the mirror, perhaps mirrors still have the old files). Have just checked on XP - it works! Will check on Win 10 and get back to you.
P.S. Just checked on Win 10 - works. Just having some issues downloading addons from 2.3 version, but otherwise it is OK, thanks a lot! Several black keys from one of the top octaves are not working, but I shall get over it... :)

Ye sorry for the blame. There just were some facts that couldn't be true because of the code which doesn't exist in the installer anymore and these facts made me thinkingy you are teasing me.
