GForce Software M-Tron Pro v2.1.0 Incl.Keygen-R2R screenshot
TEAM R2R 2014.11.13 | 3.49 GB
The M-Tron Pro virtual instrument is a remarkable emulation of the classic Mellotron — the unique tape playback keyboard made famous by such luminaries as The Beatles, Yes, Led Zeppelin and The Moody Blues.

The 3.5GB sound library features nearly 200 tape banks (sample sets) including those from the M-Tron, 19 of which have been remastered at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios resulting in a warmth of tone surpassing the originals.

A Virtual Classic... and Beyond

Dating back to the pre-digital 1960s, the Mellotron was one of the first sample-based keyboards. Artists such as The Moody Blues, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Genesis and later OMD, Radiohead and Oasis have used them to emulate strings, choirs and other orchestral instruments, while the BBC used them extensively for sound effects.

When pressed, each key engaged playback of a discrete strip of tape containing an eight-second recording of that note played on an instrument such as a violin. The tape rewound after key release. The lack of looping forced the player to adapt his playing style giving the instrument a unique playing characteristic in addition to its already distinct sound. The more commercial models featured the ability to switch between three different sound sets within the installed tape bank — and adventurous owners were able to physically swap tape banks with care and patience.

We first paid homage to this venerable keyboard with the M-Tron. Now M-Tron Pro goes far beyond — and is as much a labor of love as the Mellotron itself. We're also supplying over 40 of the tape banks looped.

More Under the Hood

Lift the lid of the M-Tron Pro and you’ll discover a whole new set of easy yet powerful editing controls that take the Tron experience way beyond what the original inventors ever imagined.

Set up your own splits and layers, apply vintage ensemble and delay effects, and sculpt your sound with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass resonant filters. And that’s just the beginning. You’ll find tape reverse, tape half-speed and a slew of synth-type parameters—making the M-Tron Pro a remarkable source for unique signature sounds far beyond the basic tape banks sounds themselves.

Programmable MIDI CC control implementation with MIDI Learn lets you control it all from your MIDI controller and there’s dynamic keyboard control including filter aftertouch.

Does it work with .cpt2 libraries from v.1 ?
If so, is it possible to upload it without the library ?

The 2.1 update is small, therefore suggesting just an update to the standalone/vst etc... The large library is contained in the initial v.1, so I don't think there are any changes to the library, at least there were none on the OSX side, just 64bit compliance....
..grateful for HEXWARS, R2R, SYNTHiC4TE, CASHMERE & ALL teams, AZ crew past and present, and friends I have met here . RIP and LOVE to Olymoon and his family.

Just a note if anyone is wondering.
The 2.1.2 update I posted was a Mac only update,
so this 2.1.0 is the latest PC version available.

I'm getting a similar issue to dingus - the standalone works fine but the VST in Cubase 7.5.3 isn't working. It shows up in the plugin list and can be loaded but the GUI is blank white. Very disappointing as the sounds are great.

With Live you have to start the DAW as admin to successfully scan (and find) the M-tron (rather annoying from GForce btw), maybe with Cubase it's the same?

Dingus what was the problem that you were having with this software? Perhaps we can figure it out over on AudioSex. As usual I haven't had a chance to install it yet. Did you try running it in Administrator mode by modifying the shortcut for your DAW? You can also right click your DAW shortcut and choose Run as administrator.

Thanks for that feedback NanoBeat, that is really helpful. By the way I read that someone was saying something about not being able to see the patch name? Is that true because I highly doubt that R2R would have released something like that if it weren't refined, certainly would have issued a repack.

Perfect, thanks again for taking the time out to share your feedback. Looks like I can finally delete those older versions taking up space on my external. Gonna need it with the holidays coming up.

Somebody had the same problem on Mac, it's a missing font,
a known issue since long time and documented on Gforce support documents.
I can't remember now the font name, anyway it's on their site. ;)

    SOLUTION
Dingus I had a moment to install this myself and test it out and I believe that I might have the solution for you. There are 3 possibilities for why your M-Tron Pro isn't working:

    1) You're missing the Arial font on your computer.

    2) You're not running your DAW as admin.

    3) You tried to install the 32-bit version in your Program Files (x86) location. If you're on a 64-bit system then you must install both the 32-bit and 64-bit in your Program Files directory.

    Wrong way
My initial install the default folder that they designated for installation is:
    \Program Files\VSTPlugins\GForce\M-Tron Pro\(32bit)

    and I changed that to:
    \Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\GForce\M-Tron Pro

so basically I put it in the x86 branch and removed the (32bit) subfolder at the end that they designated. My logic was if it's 32-bit it should be in the x86 branch and why do I need to install to a subfolder called 32-bit if that branch is all 32-bit?

Then I did the same thing with the 64-bit install and this time I instead installed it to:
    \Program Files\VSTPlugins\GForce\M-Tron Pro

because it's 64-bit so it should be in the Program Files branch. I then also removed the (64bit) subfolder that they designated since again Program Files is all 64. Well that was stupid because apparently logic doesn't work in GForce's view of how this should be installed so I was forced to redo it.

    Right way
The next time I installed to:
    \Program Files\VSTPlugins\GForce\M-Tron Pro\(32bit)
    and
    \Program Files\VSTPlugins\GForce\M-Tron Pro\(64bit)

and it worked. Then it shows up in the DAW.

Hope this helps. Really digging this new release by the way. Fucking sweet.

I remember the original Gforce M-Tron being horribly buggy, so hopefully this is much better.

I was on the fence about using this since I already have the banks in Kontakt format and I think SampleTron has all the sounds too, but I like that the sounds can be layered and that there are patches with it (whereas I think SampleTron is just the naked sounds).

I used to use Tron sounds all the time, but lately when I do it's just been the freeware TB Tapeworm VSTi, which is pretty lightweight and has the main ones I used.
