hey can anyone help me out? cant open it without it crashing
..im trying to open it 2 ways and both are having the same error i believe..

when i go to open "m-tron pro" in applications it says "please use the following file selection dialog to locate your library folder" then it will say it needs to open the folder with the name "m-tron pro library" and must contain the library.cpt2.

so then i find and open that 'm-tron pro library' folder and it basically just crashes and 'quit unexpected' on my mac.

same thing happens when i try to open it on my MPC program as a vst...

Good morning larrybird ... The same happens to me after following the hints in this forum, maybe you find the solution there but i had no success ... It crashes all the time no matter if i use it as standalone or as VSTi/AUi ... In the forum they say that updating the installer seems to solve the problem ... But i tried and they (GForce) doesn't allow to download updates at least you ara a customer ... So, if someone have an update of this (only the installer) for Mac and can upload it for us to try, it would be much appreciated!

Probably this will not help you to put up and running this ... but who knows!
Anyway, if you have success don't forget to share with us after what you've done!

EDIT: BTW what is MPC ? (sorry for my ignorance)

hey man

an mpc is a piece of hardware basically a midi controller. i should be able to run the mtron program through it as a vst, but if i try to do that, or if i try it standalone i get the error about the crpt2 file or whatever

i also do not have permission to run the other installer, and not the cracked one..seems to be working for windows users but not mac.

The error about crpt2 is normal, either vst/au/standalone needs the library to work, so it needs to know where it is ... To me that it asks for the library is a feature not a bug, in the sense that this means that you can put it wherever you want (great if you don't have so much space in the MacHD) ... With regards to the permission to run the original installer look in the link i gave you, there you'll find that you must change some parameter inside the *.plist file on the installer ...

Life isn't always easy and sometimes one must fight him/herself to overcome it ... I mean (and don't take it as an offense, please) that you should not expect others to solve all your problems ... they may help, of course, but the effort to solve them must be yours ... Said so, go to the forum i posted and spend some time reading the answers there ... I'm sure it will be of great benefit to you, and eventually you'll be able to help others too ...

P.S.: As i've seaid no offense here, but trying to help (in every sense)

youre wrongful to say any of this because before i posted the original question in the post- i already tried to change the .plist file but it says it is locked and unable to change..

No, i'm not joking, i'm sorry! ... On the other hand you can't change the .plist file most probably because you're trying to change the .app from the .dmg in the .iso file which you should know that it is read only ... Said so, if you had spend some time reading carefully the thread in the forum i posted you could have read "mount the .dmg file and copy the installer to your desktop".

As you can see, i'm not joking ... i'm very sorry!

i wasnt asking what a crpt2 error was, i was saying that when i find the crpt2 folder when opening the program, it crashes..

Again, spend some time reading the thread in the forum i posted and dedicate some effort to experiment yourslef with the answers there ... It's not in my hand to give you further help, because as i've said i've followed all the hints there and i had no success ... This doesn't mean that you could not have success ... It only means that it will depend on your own effort and of a little bit of luck for you to have success ...

Just do it! Think that in the end it will benefit you! (even if you don't have succes)

No, i simply gave you the link for you to see if some of the solutions there could work for you ... You maybe know already that some solutions posted here and there in the net work for some and not for others ... If what they say in the forum has also not worked for you ... Then you can try to research for more solutions ... I know that to do this means spend time in something when maybe you would like to spend in other things that satisfy yourself more than trying to find a solution to your problem expecting that at any time someone else give you the solution ... I have nothing more to say ...

Finally figured it out (the permission thing):

First make a copy of the Installer on your harddisk (it's needed, cause otherwise you can't save the file).

I did a control click on the Installer.app icon, showed package contents, opened Resources->installscript.plist in the Property Editor (just double click on it), and changed "Require Admin" to FALSE and saved the file.

Then it worked for me.

unfortunately the plug crashes cubase all the time, but i have an old version. maybe that's why...

Perhaps it is the version of Cubase you have, don`t know ... My own experience though, is that it crashes Reaper and Tracktion here (both leggit so i have the latest versions installed) ... Anyway, finally i decided to give up (i tried everything without success and on the other hand i have many other synths to experiment with) ...

Perhaps gweilo could tell us something else we could search in our systems that he has and we don't as he said that it worked for him both in 10.6.8 as well as in 10.9.4

Glad to know that it worked for you! ... I'm also in 10.6.8 and as i've said i had no success ... But now i know it works i think it's time to uninstall everything and re-try a clean install ... Thanks for telling us it worked for you!

weird that it works on your 10.6.8. and not fraggies. also weird that the plist file seems to be different in the version the people on the other forum were talking about than the plist file in this download..

the program wasnt even the mtron pro that the guy said to change the plist file in the forum fraggle posted..

and in the only plist file that the mtron pro has with 'request admin' on it is locked and cannot be changed.

Same problem here, on 10.6.8 and on 10.9.3 — VST and AU plugins as well as the standalone complain about not finding a file and then crash, and crash Live 9 too. Logic can't even see the AU plugin. If someone has a suggestion, I would loooove to use this software :)

Also doesn't work as a VST in Cubase 7.5 64Bit.
Doesn't load the sound library when I open in Cubase.
It only works as standalone. (Windows 8 x64)

Anyone having issues you should only use this for the library and use the ASSiGN release of the installer that was posted in the archive section around the same time as this release. It's working.

Thanks for your advice.

I've been using this plug-in for years. Till it's first (non-pro) M-Tron release.
Last year, when I upgraded my system to 64bit, I couldn't use this super-tool any more.
I tried every release. Also yesterday the one you said... The ASSİGN release. No way...
And also I have the same problem with this one's brother G-Force String Machine...

The weird thing is, it is opening as working GUI in Cubase, but can not reach the library.
The patch browser doesn't work. In standalone mode every thing is fine. I've searched for this problem in web but couln't find a solution.
