Largo offers three fat oscillators, two of them with sub oscillators. These oscillators include models of classic analog waveforms as well as a selection of waves from the PPG and Waldorf Wave stored in two Wavetables. All these run through two Waldorf multimode filters with steep cutoff, resonance up to self-oscillation and a drive stage to add even more punch and grainyness to the sound. Ultra-fast envelope generators and flexible LFOs as well as an easy to understand, yet extremely versatile modulation matrix make for a sound designer's dream.

The filters have always been a core part of any Waldorf instrument. With outstanding expertise in both analog and digital synthesis, our developers took utmost care in developing the filters. And you can hear a significant difference when working with a Waldorf filter - they just sound right! Use the comb filters for plucked, stringed or blown sounds. Band pass, high pass, low pass and notch filters are all available with 12 dB and 24 dB slope. All of them sound extremely accurate and add pure sonic quality to the sound of your music.

Largo contains a flexible arpeggiator with 16 freely programmable steps as known from the exclusive Q synthesizer line plus an array of high quality effects such as Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Overdrive, Delay and Reverb.

This synth is VERY GOOD....

Check out Aiyn Zahev's DRIVE bank for Largo...

It has a lot of PPG sounds too in one of the banks....

You have to play with the filters in realtime to really appreciate the power and sound quality....

Do not judge this synth on the crap presets...

It's not enough to load up some crap sounds and then play a few notes before dismissing the software as rubbish...

When we get everything for free - we don't put the effort in to get the best sounds - we just move onto the next synth, get blown away by the sounds and then forget about a synth the second a new one is released!

I mean Vaz Modular, Zebra, even Hypersonic 2 have some incredible sounds and possibilities.

Not so simple When you have CHOICE between a smoothly working synth with a lot of good demos, good factory presets, a lot of 3rd party choice (Sylenth and Massive to name some) AND Largo (erratic GUI, bad factory presets, bad audio demos, few 3rd party banks...), you just don't care about the latter.
When, added to that, they don't solve several years old bugs, update their sh*t once in a while... 1.5.1 was from 2010.
So yes i love Komplexer and Largo, but i totally understand ppl wanting to trash them anyway

How to install? Keygen says access elicenser.

2) Close eLicenser Control Center if running

(Keygen will not start if it's open!)

3) Run keygen and install license

From their website, the demos sound barely ok: Nothing that we never heard so far.
I don't feel this one is adding anything to Sylenth, Massive, Omnisphere or any other NI synths to name but a few.

And i always preferred Komplexer to it, even if they share almost all code. There are sounds you can't find on any other synth on both.
Worth the hassle for everyone ? not.
But i still love Komplexer

Waldorf has been doing wavetable synthesis for a long time. This synth can do ring modulation, true FM (Massive can't) and hard sync (Massive can't) and also comes with an arpegiattor, better mod matrix, sub oscillators, sound layering (up to 4 sounds) and better effects though there are less of them (Chorus is brilliant). Filters are way better and you can attain a sharp sound you simply can't with Plastic (sorry Massive). The filters also have a drive stage and you can select from 8 distortion types so that's great for Industrial fiends like me. It has a ton of features that are either better implemented or more capable and can certainly fill a gap even in tandem with amazing synths like Omnisphere and Sylenth (Sylenth is great but pretty limited). Personally I love the shit out of this synth but I see most people are having a hard time getting it to work. The last version worked okay for me (with some slight annoyances) on XP but not sure about Windows 8. We'll find out soon enough.

The Largo dll crashes the J-Bridge, i think.

Well if you haven't specifically told J-Bridge to bridge Largo, there should be no conflict whatsoever. And like copylefter said, there should be no reason that you need to be bridging this. J-Bridge isn't going to crash just from Largo sitting untouched in your vst folder.

I should say largo crashes my DAW , not J-Bridge.

When i start a projekt (inclusive NEXUS 32bit) the DAW
crashes(with largo.dll in my VST Folder).
Without largo.dll all is fine.

I like others have had it crash on multiple DAWs.

It crashed FL Studio 11/Pro Tools 11/Bitwig on Windows 8 64 Bit OS for me.

Thanks for the hard work put into releasing this though. Much appreciated.

Sounds like the same problems as the old version whereby you cannot have other elicenser dependent software gets screwed when this is installed. I was hoping it would be cracked without the elicenser this time around. I got it to work last time round after a few attempts. I have ilok license manager stuff, does anyone know if this will trash that as well?

It's just another story.

It seems this is the soft in itself that is being unstable.
Tough Largo allows users to shape great landscape sounds, Waldorf is doing much better with hardware than software anyway... in my opinion.
