This update includes general stability issues, a bug whereby the plugin would not authorise in Logic Pro when the users HD name contains irregular characters, as well as a fix for the resolution bug in the GUI on some PC's.

I don't know why but this doesn't seem to be working for me? I've tried both 32 and 64 Bit versions and gen the key and still it refuses to register? I even tried the supplied key but nothing? I'm running Win7 64Bit.

It doesn't work for me on Windows 7 64. There is no place to load the key, I tried to drag and drop it and put it in the plugins folder, generated a new one and nothing works. It stays in demo mode.

When you install Kick synth you will be asked for the key. So first generate the key, and locate the file when u install it. Works perfect on WIN and MAC.

Unfortunately it's not perfect on my end: Windows 8 x64. I wasn't asked for the serial during install and I even traced the install procedure, removed all traces and did it again to be sure. Anyone else?

Exactly the same here! There's no place to load the key, it just says it's in demo mode. I see on the screenshots on the site there's a part where it asks for the key but that doesn't happen here, their screen shots are also on a mac so maybe that has something to do with it. Also, maybe this has something to do with it but for the type of file generated it's saying the type is a Presonus key file? Maybe since I have S1 installed it's somehow screwing up the file associations? I don't know.

It's saying it's a Presonus key file because Studio One created that association when you installed it and therefore becomes the default program that opens that type. Before that it was a dissociated extension but after installation that changed as Presonus makes use of it for their key file. I looked through the plug looking for some interface for adding it manually but it's not there. It also looks like OS isn't the issue since you're running 7 and I'm on 8.

That is weird. I have installed this on Win7 x64 and Win8.1 x64 and MacOSX mavericks. Worked fine on all instances. Here is what I did.

I didnt uninstall anything, I just installed it over previuse 1.0... during installation of Kick 1.01 i get a box saying if I have the license file and then I locate the license file (i saved it on my desktop) and when I load it up in my DAW everything works fine.

I am pretty sure u cannot input the key file otherwise as the Kick GUI doesnt have any activate button or anything similar. So it must be activated during installation.

The key file just uses a extension which Studio One can read, so that is not the case.

Look at this pic for "Key installation" box:

Ok thanks, so maybe that's it, maybe you need a previous version installed, so really this is more of an update rather than a full installer, That's what it sounds like to me.

Aha so that must be it! I was actually thinking to myself just now that the previous version worked for me but it was on my old XP x86 so I wasn't sure if that was it or not. Now my suspicions are confirmed. Thanks for your help diagnosing the issue.

It would be helpful if anyone got this to work that didn't install over the last version and did a clean install. If not then it looks like R2R might have made a mistake on this one and we could relay that information for a possible fix.

I had the same problems trying to install v1.01, it didnt give me the option to choose the licence file. I eventually got it to work by installing v1.00 first, then installing v1.01 aswell.

SOLUTION (License Installation): there is a licenseinstaller.exe in a sonic academy folder. just search for it and run it and then find your generated license file!

SOLUTION (License Installation): Thanks! With your tip I figured it out. So for anyone on Windows x64 who do not have a previous version installed, go to C>Program Data>Sonic Academy>Kick>Presets. In there you'll find the licenseinstaller.exe. run it to load the key you previously created with the keygen and boom! you're in! Thanks for the help!

Thanks, this worked at last.

Didn't work with a license I generated with the keygen, but it worked with the one R2R supply.

SOLUTION for MAC USERS : This is caused by a permission problem... Running the post install script manually will solve the issue !

Open Terminal, type : sudo su, it will ask for your user password, nothing will be displayed as you type it, this is normal...

Once the login is successful, copy/paste those lines (taken from the postinstall script) :

chmod -R 777 "/Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy/Kick - Nicky Romero"

"/Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy/Kick - Nicky Romero/LicenseInstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/LicenseInstaller"

chmod -R 777 "/Library/Application Support/Sonic Academy/Kick - Nicky Romero"

exit 0
