Introducing Element: The first ever synthesizer from Waves. Powered by Virtual Voltage™ technology, Element is an analog-style polyphonic instrument engineered to deliver the fat, gritty sound of the classics, with all the precision, flexibility and control of contemporary digital synths.

Element includes a vast array of convenient features and functions. Like integrated effects. A 16-step arpeggiator / sequencer. MIDI Learn for all controls. And a massive preset library, with total tweakability. Plus, all parameters are laid out right there in front of you, so when inspiration strikes, there’s no need to scroll through page after page to customize your sounds. Searing leads, booming basses, ethereal pads, electro-percussion, sequential motions, mind-blowing FX and lots more: Element does it all.

Powered by Virtual Voltage™ technology
Integrated chorus, delay, reverb, distortion and bit crusher effects
16-step arpeggiator / sequencer
Plugin and standalone components

In every f*cking marketing text "mind blowing" is used. F*ck you, Waves! Your fx in Element is NOT "mind blowing" - it's the usual sh!t you find in every other synth!

So annoying....

However, thanks for the release!

@bigboobs
Do you believe Waves would have sold a single copy of it if they said
This Synth is vst programmed using very ordinary code to make it cpu friendly therefore the sound and fx does very much sound like every other synth on the market.

Guys this is the OLD Release. The instructions are wrong for NON Cubase users.

Use my updated release, and how to use Shell2VST to create proper DLLs for other hosts.

simply Waves make great non-instrument VST plugins but they should stay away from VSTi's just like Rob Papen should stay away from making non-instrument VST-s, don't even think he makes any.

Doesnt work on Ableton Live 8. It opens but doesnt sound no matter the preset I load. The waveform displays are empty. Weird shit.

@InsanityWolf.

Dl my last release (my last post) and follow the instructions. Since now you loaded a VST plugin and NOT a VSTi Plugin, thats why no sound.

I gave it a quick demo and find it to be pretty good.
I think the beauty of it is in it`s simplicity, pair it up with a decent controller like the behringer bcr2000 and it`s a nice, straight forward synth.

Pros :
Simple to use
Good sound if you experiment with both osc`s, they seem to have a funny but nice way -
of interacting with each other (muck about with pwm)
Could make a good bread and butter synth.

Cons :
Doesnt really distinguish itself from all the other vsti`s out there.

3.5/5

Many thanks Horsemen/iND

This synth probably says a lot about, how much they've paid attention to detail in emulating console channels, assembled in synth edit, added saturation and here you have a fucking SSL desk channel strip rofl 300Euros bitch mates
Everyone was like, wow!, what a sound! rofl

From company like Waves you would expect something like state of the art filters, envelopes, oscillators, not a damn Sylenth 1 "emulation" rofl

It's made with SynthEdit. Check the code. :p

@wuzzle

Unbelievable you are right. What a shame. Its now clear, that Waves got nothing to do with the creation of this Plugin. None of their code are inside this plugin. It seems that they are only giving their name to sell this plugin. I wondered myself, why all the FX Section sounded so bad, while you know they could implemented some of their nice plugin code in the FX section.

I suppose they could be testing the waters to see if there really are people who want synth technology from Waves... But (imho) this is the wrong way to go about it ;) Or, Devils advocate here, perhaps this is simply a way to shut up the people begging them to make one. tongue

I wouldn't have expected a Super-Synth from WAVES.....but something more solid. damn Interface design is so cheap. sad Their latest products lack of originality + support for older Operation Systems. Waves could do much better. Minus -7 points to Waves.

Thanks gridlove for this useful comment.

Has anyone here compared it to Linplug's MorphoX?
How do the OSC's and filters sound in comparison?
