About The Protection :

1.Serial is checked at many places, and sometime it leaves main
code section then jumps to their custom section. Those checks
are triggered by your action. Once it fails validating, audio
output will be shutdown. Those checks waste the CPU power
massively especially on the preset browsing.

2.Additionally, RobPapen/ConcreteFX synthesizers are packed Win32
PE files with Themida. Because their execution files are big
(RG is over 50MB!), Themida takes long time to extract the code.
You have to wait the RP plugins to be loaded for a long time as a
result. It will be a ture nightmare when you recall the project
to which many RP synths are inserted

Looks like its still on the e-licenser and the same version that AiR releaed awhile ago. 1.8.5d - KVR seems to indicate this as well. Cant find a version number on Rob papens site, but it says e-licensor there as well.

Guess well have to wait till they update it if they ever do.

Blue is at least at 1.9.0d

There were 2 releases already, one was 64bit only and one was Mac only.

Whats missing is a 32bit.



Anyway, doesnt matter anymore. Ive had a look at one of the synths from this package and i dont like the fact that they hardcoded the wrappers to look for the org DLLs in Program Files on the C: drive. My C: is for system stuff, not applications. Plus they MPRESSed them, which makes my AV go sentimental depending on the VDFs currently installed. So while the effort is appreciated, i will pass on that kind of setup.

BLUE is actually @ version 1.9.0e. BLUE by Rob Papen is for me one of the best software Synthesizers available! Just 1 little minus point: The presets management.

I stand corrected. It did seem odd that their website claims its still on e-licensor. I guess they don't update their site or KVR.

Hopefully it will show up. A non EL version with x86 would be nice.

Yeah, it would.

But for it to be perfect it would have to be a fully self-contained setup, i.e. all in one single dir which the user can put wherever they prefer.

Since reg-editing Blues own paths to the preferred dir is not a problem, the only thing thats currently in the way of this is the fact that they hardcode the 32bit wrappers to look for the org DLLs in %ProgramFiles%\Rob Papen\<SynthName>. If theyd replace that hardcoded path with the CurrentDirectory var, the exact dir location would no longer matter since the wrappers would then look for the org DLLs in whatever dir they are sitting in themselves.

Also, just for the sake of appearance they should make the extension of the org DLLs DAT or BIN or something since 'R2R' just isnt very subtle, if you know what i mean. And last but not least they should refrain from compressing the crap since many AVs have a tendency to go paranoid over unknown packed executable code. (Which is exactly as it should be, after all being suspicious is part of an AVs job.)
