Mixbus™ is a full-featured Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with "True Analog Mixing"™: a combination of Harrison's world-renowned sound and features in a knob-per-function interface. Mixbus™ provides a solution for engineers and mixers who need a recorder, editor and mixing system with world-class sound and features

Mixbus Features:
•Straightforward “knob per function” mixer layout based on Harrison's renowned 32-series and MR-series music consoles.
•Precision DSP algorithms for EQ, Filter, Compression, Analog Tape Saturation, and •Summing based on Harrison's world-renowned large format analog and digital mixing consoles.
•Unlimited stereo or mono input channels (based on available CPU power) featuring •High-pass Filter, EQ, Compression, and 8 Mix Bus sends on every channel.
•8 Stereo Mix Buses (can be used for groups or auxes) featuring Tone controls, •Compression, Sidechaining, and Analog Tape Saturation.
•Stereo Master Bus that features Tone controls, Analog Tape Saturation, K-meter, •Stereo Correlation Meter, and Limiting to help you make polished mixes.
•Plugin delay compensation to support effects such as parallel compression.
•Comprehensive "at-a-glance" metering with peak, peak hold, and compressor gain reduction visible on every track and bus.
•Extensive DAW features via the Ardour Digital Audio Workstation.

Mixbus v2.1 includes three new features that help realize the benefits of "cloud computing":

Importing directly from Freesound.org allows users to search a massive online database of royalty-free sounds, searchable by tags such as "drums", or "car engine", and import them directly into a session from the Mixbus import window.
Exporting final mixes to Soundcloud directly from the Mixbus export dialog allows users to securely share their mixes worldwide via the power of cloud computing.
New Metadata dialog allows users to store critical metadata inside the audio session, and also store critical global user metadata to speed up operations such as BWAV region-stamping, session copyright dates, and login details for included services such as Soundcloud. Metadata stays with the session and can be searched, sorted, stored and scripted using tools that recognize the industry-standard XML format.

This keeps getting better however being the devil's advocate here

Harrison should dump Ardour crap, it has problems in linux and it was INTENDED for linux, so on windows it sucks ass.

Harrison should get in talks with the only fully open do whatever the hell you want to, make your own plugins change it to whatever you want REAPER.

Ardour has to go it is shit no offence.

This from a very big linux user!!!

That's a great idea, coolios. To integrate Harrison's console in Reaper. LOL I think it would also be very useful if they made VST plugin versions. Then you could have a Harrison console wherever you want it. Only 32ch of it, of course, but you can always load more plugins if you need more channels, and Kontakt 4 somehow managed to use 64 channels in one plugin with VST 2.4 anyway.

But the thing is - they want to stay GPL, and neither VST or Reaper are Open Source.

Thank you for the upload!

Yes I emailed Justin ( Cockos Reaper owner) about talking to Harrison as Ardour is not that great it is very unstable.

Yes I agree that Harrison should make VST version of their consoles.

I know reaper is not GPL but the way reaper was made it is even more open that any GPL app out there

Let's see if Harrison ever decides to make their mix console a VST the world would spin backwords lol

Whoah, Coolios, thank you for planting a "bug" in Justin's mind, about it. ;) Now that I think of it, it's far more possible that Harrison would integrate it with Reaper, than make a VST plugin. That would be fantastic. What's also interesting is that since about some time now, they started developing a Linux version of Reaper, too, future-proofing Reaper for whatever happens with the OSes... Cheers!
