First of all THX for the fast fix!

Second thing: sorry for calling it a peaceout bypass approach, I know it has more effort in it than your older approaches. As I said, respect for trying/doing Syncrosoft/ELicenser, we have to keep in mind that this is one of the most complex, annoying and sophisticated protections available!

But Reflect still has an issue, that is not happening with AiR release (2.01 version though). It is not so easy to recreate this issue, but I'll try. Insert effect, start turning all knobs, especially the blue ones, then turn on EQ, turn off, turn on again etc. Keep turning all knobs, the EQ, predelay, size, time etc. Do this until you changed a lot of parameter values. After a min or two and lots of parameters change, audio will distort in A BAD WAY. And I mean not some peaks beeing to high, no this is a typical protection distortion, audio all gone crash. The audio meter on the channel will freeze, sound will stop completely. Only some crackles left. This does not happen with AiR release, and I doubt it will in the original. It has to be crack related, but as I said it wont happen if you only turn knobs a little bit. It takes 1-3 mins to provoke this. I hope you are able to recreate this issue.

I'll have a look now at the Vtape, all other plugs are working great here so far!

[Edit] Sorry to say, SYNSOPOS error in Vtape Delay is gone, but if you tweak the parameters like a maniac like in Reflect described above (especially if you youse LF/LF gain on the loop filter, Audio will die after 3 mins, digital distortion, audio meter freeze, you have to reload the plugin...I cant provoke such an error with AiRs release no matter how hard I try.

Nearly the same issue with VTape Saturator, not that bad and only if EQ section is turned on (not bypassed) and tweaked, audio freeze will disappear if you turn off EQ again. It seems that the protection in the codesection for EQ makes it crash. But not the whole plugin only the audio which is processed through this code is affected. To recreate, disable bypass on EQ, and start turning LF/LFGain for about a minute. First yo will experience some minor crackles, but after a while the audio signal will die and can only be restord by reloading the plugin or bypassing the whole EQ section.

Can't reproduce the error.
What DAW and plugin format do you use?

i got tha same crash as in previous release. FL Studio 10 VST2

I use Cubase 5.5 with original Dongle. Both VST3 and VST2.

I can reproduce it every time. But i will try it in other DAWs now.

Maybe it has sth to do with the original dongle.

Need some time though, check back tomorrow.

I have only tried VTAPE Delay.

Problem confirmed in Studio One, REAPER, Orion and Renoise, all 32bit on 32bit Win7.


Quickest way to provoke the issue:

1) Load an instrument with arpeggiator, (i used Polysix), set the arp on hold, trigger the arp

2) Decrease instruments channel volume to about -12dB so the peaks wont kill the audio engine

(Lower it more if -12dB is not enough.)

3) Put VTAPE Delay on the instrument as an insert effect

4) Hold CTRL and click on all of VTDelays knobs to reset them to defaults

(Feedback on 0 is especially important as otherwise the distortions will take an eternity to decay.)

5) Enable the 8 red squares in the tap matrix so you get a lot of echoes

6) Disable Bypass on the Loop Filter, then start wiggling the HF Gain knob

If you wiggle fast enough you should immediately get some nice juicy gain overdrive.

(Issue can be provoked in several different ways but one should be enough to see the problem.)


Other observations: Tap matrix frequently flickers for a moment. Not sure what to make of this.


Conclusion: In current state unusable. People with low-wattage speakers are well advised to keep their hands off this stuff as the gain peaks might destroy their speakers / crossover resistors when overall gain is too high. Same goes for headphones. If you must risk it, be sure to start at zero volume and increment the level in minimal doses. Put a safe brickwall limiter on the master also.

VTSaturator and Reflect have the same noise issue. It is not "sth on my side". A lot of people out there will have an unpleasant suprise while using this. And I think the flickering has sth to do with dongle cyclic call, normally it would crash at this position of code.

Well, it's the infamous ELicenser. I won't diss ASSiGN. No one can do better ATM.
