Not unless you have a really slow/old pc/laptop.
It just means you cant see the samples loading (not sure why) so you may play before its finished loading. But no biggy. I have a i7 laptop and I would guess the first preset load is maybe 10 seconds then the next presets are nearly instant (plus I have the library on an external drive, which will sow it too).

Download is 6GB alright. Extracted to 60GB I think ? and made my computer goes crazy for few minutes. Only wanted to try but deleted right away because of the size. I'm happy with the Soniccouture kontakt libs. Thanks R2R btw.

20gb is never justifiable, we should be investing in physical modelling and hybrid resampling approaches, not bloated slow loading stuff that eats at my drive space.

The best Rhodes VST IMO is The Famous E Electric Piano by Orange Tree Samples - it's legendary for a reason - but I haven't tried the Rhodes V8 Pro yet. Thank you so much DECiBELLE!

That particular Rhodes was on hundreds of cuts and became "the Rhodes" to book in LA in the 80s. If you've heard any Al Jarreau or David Foster songs, you've heard this Rhodes. It was flown to NYC for Steely Dan's Gaucho album and again when Donald Fagen recorded The Nightfly. Jay Graydon says he used it on over 200 tracks himself and was intimately involved in the sampling process because he wanted so badly to preserve that sound. There are websites dedicated to the special place in musical history of the specific "E" Rhodes that was sampled for that VST.

yes - I have re discovered this GREAT library just a few days ago and IMHO it sounds way better than the V8 plugin. there are lots of beautiful presets that emulate sounds that will make any Steely Dan fan scream for joy. you even get the original Jay Graydon settings amongst others. Harold Rhodes himself called the E "the most beautiful sounding Rhodes I´ve ever heard."

I will keep the V8 for some presets though.

Comparatively to other EP-like emus I have (mainly AIR Music Fabric XL, Arturia, AAS Lizard & co), this one feels more dynamic and "alive".

IMHO the main reason could be that they have not only sampled the instrument, but also all the mechanical noises and articulations that come with it.

If you click on the "Setup" tab, you will see that you can really adjust four different parameters (Level, Fine tune, Damper and Timbre) for each individual 73 notes!

In other terms: you have 4 parameters per note, that really change the response, the tuning, the decay and the tonality of each note. Seen from my POV, this possibility is a game changer.

I also appreciate the FX and the preamp emu included, nothing extraordinary compared to, for example, Arturia FX or IK T-racks, but they all feel really "vintage" (try the phaser for example) - click on the "Detail" tab to have a better view and start tweaking the knobs, interesting.

Some presets are really crazy, don't hesitate to explore all of them!

The Arturia one is the worst example I have heard. Lounge Lizard sounds great for a low space consumption modeled sound. I haven't tried V8 yet, but I don't doubt that it's good, soundwise. I did notice in many demos of it that the graphic doesn't always reflect all notes being pressed, which doesn't look good for such a premium sampled instrument.
