So, I was just wondering...
If you put a headphone correction plugin before this, you should be able to use the different profiles of the listening devices.
Is that correct?

Interesting question. So you're first trying to get a perfectly flat frequency response on your headphones and then add the deficiencies of iconic studio monitors?

I think not, you should put headphone correction after ARC to get various device simulations

Ok, so I don't have any monitors or measuring mics, and I just want to use ARC to simulate the rooms.
Like in Realphones, you know?

That's why was asking, because I thought if you don't use any room correction at all and just use the flattened correction, if this could work.
I've never used ARC, so I am kinda a noob in that.

Hi All

I have installed ARC 4 and the new Keygen seems fine

When I load the programme I can't find any room measuring software to calibrate the thing

Any ideas

@adva already said:
Navigate to the installation folder, default path should be: program files/Ik multimedia/ARC System 4/
Then run the file Analysis.exe

Has a new microphone been released?
Does it work with the previous ones?

For those who can't use ARC4 because it is require hardware box. You, guys, starting wrong program/ ARC4 system app is for hardware configuration, you need to go to program files/Ik multimedia/ARC System 4/ there will be ARC 4 Analysis.exe that is what you need

Can i use the Mic from sonarworks?

i think yes

I think that you can use any measurement mic, it doens't have any way to guess what mic you're using. When I created the profile for my monitors with the Sonarworks plugin I used the ECM8000 from behringer (half the price of the Sonarworks one) and it worked perfectly

The included microphone in IK Arc and Sonaworx has different frequency curve than Behringer and other meassurement microphones and the softwares has built in calculations to correct those curves thats why they sell the software with an included microphone.
So if you gonna meassure the room with bhringer i suggest using Arc 3 as it might have a calibration file for the Behringer microphone so it meassure the room correctly.

You need what is called a calibrated measurement mic, sonarkworks is usually cheapest.
Or you can pay to professionally calibrate your behringer mic, but it needs to be calibrated otherwise you are wasting your time.

Does anyone know what the speaker profiles are in the real world? ADAM, FOCAL?

Do you need one of those sonarwork style doohickey mics? Would a decent condenser do the job?
  Member 2.03.2019 200

You can technically use any mic as the software doesn't know what mic you have. However, you should use an omni directional mic as they shouldn't have different proximity responses like a typical vocal condenser. Basically your readings won't be accurate and whatever the program does will just be essentially an "effect" and not actual room correction.

The second issue with using 'other' mics is the software needs a profile for the mic you have and those can sometimes be google'd, but don't expect to find every mic ever made. The ECM8000 mentioned above is only like $30-$35 and works perfectly.

look in program files for ARC 4 Analysis.exe

Does "Standalone" process the sound also on its own, or does it need hardware to work?

That is the best way to go. You don't want to just use 'any' omni mic for the most accurate results.

In ARC 3 I used the BehringerDynamic MM1 omni mic, uses up to 48volts

I contacted Behringer and they said the MM1 was ideal room/sound system calibration. They also sent me the 2 text files for the mic data, one for pointing the mic at the speaker the other for pointing the mic vertically in front of the speaker.
They further advised that the best results were from having the mic in the vertical position

ARC 3 was happy to accept the MM1 text file data and said it was a good match

Hello jonmoi,
Just too ask, is there any way I can get a copy of those text files from you?
Thank in advance, kensmith.

he means beyerdynamic, and his cal files would be worthless on a different mic

Does anyone prefer this "All-new more natural correction algorithm" or the windows system integration over the SONARWORKS please?
