Acustica Audio Ivory 5 2023-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 08 Dec 2023 | 299.6MB
Ivory is a VST/AAX/AU plugin suite that includes 2 equalizers, 2 compressors, 2 dynamic equalizers, and to top it all off, a powerful mastering limiter.

Ivory 5 is a transparent yet extremely musical processing suite that shines on pretty much anything you throw at it. Whether you’re a mastering engineer looking for the utmost control in the studio, or you’re producing and mixing your next big hit and need powerful, versatile tools to shape your subgroups, Ivory has got you covered.

Ivory 5 adds exciting additional features and a new, powerful emulation to your arsenal.

The new upgrades include:

A new SOA control added to the Ivory dynamic EQ, as well as in the stereo version.
All preamps fine-tuned according to the latest industry standards.
Improvements in CPU resources consumption.
Last but not least, a new, powerful mastering limiter.

Ivory 5 MAL-2: The Ultimate Mastering Limiter
Ivory 5 MAL-2 is Acustica's own interpretation of a 2-band peak limiter inspired by a famous mastering dynamics processor from a well-known British manufacturer. Warning: It’s intentionally not a 1:1 copy of the hardware, so don't expect the exact same behavior!
This plugin is the perfect choice to control even the highest peaks if inserted at the end of the audio chain in a traditional way; however, it can also be used as an extreme tone-shaping tool on individual tracks.

To use both limiters, you need to turn on HF; this enables a crossover at 2kHz that splits the incoming signal into two bands, and allows you to work separately on different portions of the spectrum (LF and HF). When β€œHF On” is bypassed, the processor becomes a classic wide-band limiter.

For more information on how to get the most out of Ivory 5, see the user's manual.

nobody should be using 48k anymore, it's the worst choice of all (google it). Many pros say it sounds like shit. 96k is what you want, failing that stick to 41.1k

41.1k is the new lo-fi ?

good lord you are misguided. 48k is motion picture standard. also most pros mix at the native sample rate the session comes recorded at, which actually is 48/882 fairly often so please log out and get some real world experience

The higher sample rate your machine can handle the better it is of course, working at 192k or 96k is not suitable for every machine especially on big sessions, that's why a lot of people choose the middle ground, 48k, if you can work at 48k is better than working at 44k, the higher the better, simple as that.

I am still wondering which one to buy the new Relab Maselec vs Acustica Audio Ivory 5.

Any opinions if you have used both?

Or buy the Solid State Logic 4KB plugin, people are saying sounds Analog like the Michelangelo Eq.

Anybody used the Acustica Lime 2 based on the VR88, the console Tom Elmhirst (15 times Grammy) uses for his mixes.

people lie but your ears won't!
when you can justify a tool by your ears why do you take random people with random experience advice? (i mean why do you even care in first place)

For me: absolutely underimpressed.
Spent about 10 min on it testing back & forth. After that i straight forward deleted it without any more thoughts spent.

I have way better plugins from the algorithmic world serving all IVORY-5 purposes

I use Lime a lot.
From day one they release it in Nov 2016.
I used to love it but like a year ago, after blind tests my ''eye's will open".
Lime, Sand all Acustica plugins are total junk.
Garbage.
Echo bugs, odd frequency response, preamps are a placebo (as all Acustica preamps.)

Those are completely different from one another, each of them has its own application, some are mixing while others are for mastering but of course you can use them as you wish. The best is to try it for yourself, each user has a different opinion and experience with these plugins.

I own Ivory. I used to love it but once the honeymoon phase wore off i realized it was not special. And after having heard some demo videos of Ivory vs Relab, the Relab sounds better to me. Ivory sounds a bit more "veiled" and "murky" in comparison. Relab sounds a bit cleaner and more 3D.

Search for "Acustica Ivory vs Relab Maselec" on youtube and you'll see a few videos
