Amethyst 4 reproduces the sonic behavior of all the components of a channel strip as found in one of the most revered British consoles of all time. It includes a channel strip, an equalizer, a dynamic processor, and a new preamp section.

Amethyst 4 is a high-performance channel strip giving you the warm sound of some celebrated British consoles from the late 70s and early 80s.
Amethyst channel strip includes three sections: a preamp, an equalizer plus filters, and a dynamic processor. Each of these sections is also available as a single plug-in for extended versatility. The filter section integrates 2 filter sets (A-B mode). In addition to equalizer A, the EQ section includes a new emulation (B). The new EQ's circuitry is based on a famous British design that will give you that unmistakably β€œexpensive” sound. Besides offering a brand new set of equalization curves, EQ B features 2 controls: GLOWY for the LF section and SHINY for the HF section. These controls allow you to change the low and high-shelf cells' slope, thus altering the overall tonal balance of the sound without changing its character. Amethyst is based on a mixing desk that was critically acclaimed as one of the greatest-sounding consoles of all time.

Acustica plugins saves *.SER file to the plugins' folder for offline authorization. We are not using Windows XP SP1.

This is an older plugin. The preamps sound quite nice. I don't remember which, it's either 2500 bus or 2500 mix that i liked back when i trialled it a few years ago

nebula has ruined everything for me, new algo plugins come out meh i have them on nebula. then these came out, and i STILL prefer nebula. just mentioning cause alexB released his 2500 bus processor and it's pretty damn slick.

AMETHYST4 CHANNEL STRIP uses HUGE amount of CPU.

AMETHYST4 COMP sounds ok

AMETHYST4 EQ doesnt sound good as other Acustics EQs. Like the channel strip you MANUALLY have to click to turn on each EQ setting leading you to do manual labor. This annoyance will lead you to use better EQs with better workflow.

AMETHYST4 PRE slightly changes sound.

AMETHYST 4 EQ (standalone EQ module)
- turning on PRE will load wrong/weird impulse both on 48kHz and 48kHz 2X OS (96kHz)
- hard to hear for newbie and on bad monitoring system. It sounds "reverby" some might thought it sounds better and 3D, . Under the analyzer, it looks like this.

AMETHYST 4 PRE and AMETHYST 4 PRE ZL (the standalone Preamp module)
- Mic and Line every single one of the pre selection is working.
- For "Custom" preamp selection :
- 9098c - no sound
- 9098e - loading wrong/weird impulse, from the manual this is the same PRE for the EQ. So can assume the share the same vector.
- 2500 Mix - no sound
- 2500 Bus - no sound
- 2500 Mix ST - the only one that working correctly

that is strange here everything works and there is no pre without sound

same problem here but only with AAX in Pro Tools, VST everything was working fine in FL Studio.
