Plugin Alliance Harris Doyle Natalus DSCEQ v1.0.0 Incl Patched and Keygen-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2023.07.07 | 50.7 MB
The Natalus Dynamic Stereo Console Equalizer (DSCEQ) is more than just a gorgeous-sounding passive equalizer. Its unique “Peak Level” control fattens audio while preserving dynamics. It does this by adding magnetically controlled dynamics processing to your signal—similar to the kinds of gentle compression and saturation you’d find in a well-calibrated tape machine.

Smooth transients like never before
Although it’s designed first and foremost as an EQ, a favorite feature for many users is the Natalus’ incredibly simple, one-knob dynamics section. As you turn up the Peak Level control, a magnetic transformer reduces the intensity of transient peaks in a way that is much smoother, cleaner, and more analog-sounding than any conventional compressor or limiter. Use it to tame “spiky” top end on acoustic guitars, synths, and percussion. Apply the Natalus DSCEQ to kicks and snares for a satisfying tape-like “punch.”

Crank the knobs to apply musical tone shaping
The beauty of passive EQs like the DSCEQ is their ability to help you significantly reshape your sounds without making them feel overly processed or “EQ’d.” Don’t be afraid to turn these knobs further than you think they ought to go. Each knob “goes to 11” for good reason: Dramatic moves can yield musical-sounding results thanks to the Natauls’ wide bandwidths, complimentary EQ curves, and single analog makeup gain stage. Think of it like a Pultec with a potentially cleaner, smoother sound—and with even more flexible and user-friendly control.

A perfect emulation of the analog original, with added features
The engineers at Brainworx painstakingly modeled the original Natalus hardware design by Rod Harris and Govinda Doyle to recreate every nuance of the original’s performance. But they did more than that, adding proprietary plugin-only features like TMT, Auto Listen, Mono Maker, Stereo Width control, M/S processing, and more.

Features

Exacting emulation of the unique Harris Doyle Natalus Dynamic Stereo Console EQ.
4 bands of passive EQ with a low cut filter and overlapping frequency control.
Proprietary “Peak Level” circuit responds to transients magnetically, similar to a tape machine, keeping transients in check and producing a beautiful "bloom" effect.
An intuitive interface that lets users focus on creativity—not technical EQ settings.
BRAINWORX Plugin Only Features.
TX Drive - the "Headroom" parameter for the transformer model only. Brainworx´ innovation.
Brainworx´ TMT inside: Tolerance Modeling Technology (TMT, US Patent No. 10,725,727) simulates channel-to-channel variances in electronic components for the most realistic analog sound in the box
Mono Maker: Sums low-frequency content to mono, giving you a focused, punchy bass response.
Stereo Width: To expand the stereo width of your tracks.
A separate Mono Version for using the plugin on individual tracks such Bass Drum, Snare, Bass, Vocals, and more.
Scalable User Interface.
Artist Presets.

I've never even heard of this. Listening through the demo's now, sounds like a fuzzy little thing. Seems like more of a vintage saturator than an EQ

Weird that there's no mix knob

I tested (not for a long time, i assume) but by default the plugin gives you a 4.5 DB of GAIN just by putting it on. Those tactics piss me off, and i got more frustrated when i compensated the levels without turning one single knob of the eq. sounded awful. And yes, it gets worse: the level bump on boosts on this thing is huge. there's no way to judge your actions without going to the output knob after every single move, and this is stressfull and a workflow killer. I mean, the Curve Bender already exists... why we need such a crap the consumes a lot of cpu for what it actually does?

I just tried it, and it does not add gain by "just putting it on" and you can just use the "headroom" knob to apply the effect without having to play with gain AT ALL!

i'm really confused here are you sure you're talking about this exact same plugin?

finally an interesting EQ from PA. They really starting to do the transformer and low end this time that was totally ignored for all their previous EQ plugins. Simply put :

1. Input stage - there's a clipping circuit, Peak Level controls the threshold can be adjusted together with the Headroom knob to find the sweet spot. The manual says it mimics the Tape compression/limiting behavior. It does more than that, but I've yet to learn everything.
2. EQ stage - do all the normal EQing. It's a Passive EQ design with overlapping frequency range.
3. HPF stage - the HPF (Low Cut) is done after all the EQing.
4. Output stage - additional saturation control, I believe the Class A Circuit + Transformer saturation, amount can be controlled with TX Drive. It can get fancy on the low-end (it should!) at high amount.

*Headroom controls internal gain stage for both the Input stage clipping circuit and Output stage saturation. So you can choose how much of color from the Input or Output stage to affect the signal.

No Mono version included in this release? Or is it just me who can't figure it out?

You're mixing something up? PA doesn't have extra mono versions - at least I've never seen one.

This one has a separate mono version officially. Sadly not included in R2R release

Shit, you're right 'A separate Mono Version for using the plugin on individual tracks such Bass Drum, Snare, Bass, Vocals, and more.'
But I haven't seen anything mono dll either. I wonder if they really made two separate installers for this.

VST3 in S1, if you add it to a mono track, it will load up the mono version as with most of their other plugins. I think it works like that for other DAW too ? Screenshot

It has been like this for a really long time already, very useful for channel strip, so you don't have to load the stereo version on a mono track.

Interesting, tried vst3 in reaper but couldn't do it. Might have done something wrong. Will try again. Thanks 👍🏽

Reaper doesn't differentiate between mono and stereo tracks.

Ah, thanks, I already thought it could work this way, it's just the first time that I've seen this sentence and Reaper doesn't care about this difference, IYKWIM.

yeah Reaper and Ableton Live (DAWs that I know of) don't have "true mono" track as some call it. Cubase, S1 and PT have it. And maybe some other DAW too. not sure.

I remember I read about people requesting true mono track for Reaper but was not fulfilled because Reaper's way of one type of track fits all, while mono audio will still work as mono without problem, 3rd party plugins will still think of it as stereo track.

Activation is having issues with the recent PA Bundle.
I activate this and it works but then the shadow hills asks for an activation, and when I create a new the Harris Doyle fails. Anyone has encountered this and fixed it ?
thx
