The correction tool for dual channel stereophonic signals!
PSP stereoController2 is designed to control, adjust, and rescue incorrectly recorded dual channel stereo tracks, or process them for specialized applications or cool sonic tricks.

PSP stereoController2 can be used in various situations:

unbalanced stereo image due to level difference between channels, e.g. in dual microphone stereo recordings

slight time alignment shift between channels

a track’s stereo image is too narrow or too wide for the mix

when the center instrument seems to be shifted to one side

virtually emulating an instrument’s location in the soundfield via combined level and delay panning

one or both channels have reversed polarity, or the channels are swapped

decoding a Mid-Side (M-S) encoded track into L/R stereo

reducing the stereo width of low frequencies, or making them mono, for proper speaker or subwoofer replay or for reliably cutting vinyl

widening stereo width of high frequencies for more ‘airy’ harmonics and spaciousness

fine adjustment of stereo imaging during the mastering process

The only unique control in this plugin is the Stability that controls L and R balance on the Side channel only. Another way to see it, it's lowering the amplitude of out-of-phase content of one side while increasing the opposite side simultaneously. So, it's basically panning the Side channel and they can't name it "Side Panning" because it's technically wrong and will sound stupid, while being fully aware that users will easily understand it better that way.

When you use it as a Stereo Widener, this plugin is as mediocre as you could think of mainly because it was designed to be a powerful Stereo Correction tool and it does that really well. Use it wisely.

Ok so if this plugin doesn't make justice to be the ultimate Stereo tool, what would be? in my case works really well because stock stereo plugins are really really basic and, often, so limited...

not such thing as a ultimate stereo tool, you kinda need to know what you want to do 1st. One plugin only really good at doing one or two thing only IMO. Stereo Savage2, Matthew Lane DrMS, DMGAudio Dualism, PS22 Spread, OSL Side Effects, Ozone 10 Imager are among my favourite tools. I rate them above this PSP plugin for 1 thing they do better than everything else for stereo imaging (enhancement) work.

This PSP plugin is more useful if you somehow fucked up the track and it can help you correct them, really good at it.
