not sure why would I use this instead of other 1176 that has more controls and tone shaping functions. Every compressor (except the 3A that has none by design) is basically on the slowest attack and fastest release settings that make it close to useless even in parallel mode where faster attack time is preferable in most cases where you want to accentuate to lower level element of the track. It is understandable that even on the slowest attack setting you have pretty fast attack compared to other compressor but still, for 1176 you want something even more grabby for parallel usage.

Others may find their way to use this, I don't, atleast for now. For some funny reason I don't even like how the meter reacting, it is kinda laggy (late) and too quick. Kinda annoying. It's just me I guess.

Another VST that thinks THEIR vst is the only one you will ever need to have on the screen. The controls in this could be pushed a bit closer and /or rearranged more efficiently.

Something I dislike about many emulations, pseudo-emulations, imitations, copies, retro-X, "classic", "vintage" and artsy-types of things is the waste of space, both in relation to the screen, and internally in the GUI.

They made some rookie mistakes:
- AutoGain is neither adjusting, peak, nor RMS, nor VU,
- Type D has a way lower output than the others, F is between A and 3A (so output adjustment is needed to compare the effect),
- 2xOS = 4xOS (looks the same, sounds the same, nulls),
- the pop-up values for Input and Output are nowhere near the numbers on the GUI (apart from +/-10 and 0),
- as already mentioned SC HPF doesn't work for 3A Type

Phase is good, even with OS (twists are acceptable, IMHO).

SC starts at ~ 180Hz with 64Hz not being compressed anymore.

THD, has a big impact on harmonics, compression, level and transients.

Bottom line, it's a non editable compressor with four more or less different algos, nothing special but not bad sounding either (tried on various sources).
