In addition to demo mode, the NI ones won't start. I think it might be because NI uses SSE4_x instructions in them now. I did not check, so grain of salt. The Softube ones start in demo for me, and that's probably because it is made by another company and they didn't do the SSE thing yet. Possible explanation. Wait and see I suppose. Rock on!

I think also it is possible that data at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\ for each product is not being updated. I uninstalled it, and all old information remains still, to manually remove. Just a heads up!

These are Guitar Rig 5 folders: VC 2A, VC 76, VC 160, Transient Master
These are KOMPLETE FX (regular plugin folders): VC 2A FX, VC 76 FX, VC 160 FX, Transient Master FX

If you mix them up, you can mess up your Guitar Rig 5 (or if installer messes them up.) TeamCubeadooby has the installer for the extra Guitar Rig 5 functionality that will fix it all up, or install it fresh, right here.

After deleting license and remaking for Driver, and a Softube one, they are both working here well! :) The "Effects Series Crush Pack" and "Effects Series Mod Pack" files are the ones needing SSE4_x or whatever. Freak, Raum, Replika, Replika XT too. Others ok.

It all boils down to this - Install on top if you don't have SSE4_x:

Despite what NI says, everything works on Windows 7. The only thing necessary to pay attention to is SSE4_x or not. If not, install the stuff right above, on top.

@ R2R, Bob, V.R: The demo thing is probably because something set read-only on the licenses, or the end user was instructed to do so. In any case, even though this is a primarily remote tool, it can be temporarily dropped during install or keygen to run under System account, or likely other ways to gain absolute full authority (like to delete read-only files, or change them from read-only, temporarily.) I am not an expert in the usage, so I cannot help too much futher, but I do know it is used by exotic stuff to do necessary things, sometimes. It is even possible that DDU makes use of it. I think it does. I have seen it in my C:\Windows in the past, after applying DDU and back to desktop. (It probably meant to delete it but didn't.)

I am talking about Mark Russinovich's PsExec. Maybe somehow you are able to make use of it, so licenses can be placed automatically under any circumstances. It is just an idea that could help you out, in the long run.

I am guessing that localhost can be the remote system. It comes as PsExec.exe 32-bit and PsExec64.exe 64-bit.

the VR installer don't change the previous version one, still 1.21 or 1.42 in regedit.

read only keygened license break the download option in native access.
it need a patched Native access (1.41 can be patched) to enable download of

update will not be detected with not matching + read only licenses.
